John Titor is not a real name. The scenario of John's life comes from a book called "Alas Babylon".
It is a hoax with code embedded by time travelers so that the world-line won't be upset.
The code was used to avert Y2K.
It is being used right now to try to avert the U.S. and world collapse. But that is failing.

Here is part of the code. Wherever you see a date predicted by John Titor, add 7 years.
"This becomes apparent around 2004 as civil unrest develops near the next presidential election."
So this line would read "around 2011 as civil unrest develops near the next presidential election."

If you read further, John talks about the coming world war.
The Middle Eastern conflict about to start may be Israel attacking Iran.
I say 'may be' because I don't want to upset the world-line.

Unix machines? Unix is an operating system, or rather -- a collection of them. It was developed by Bell Labs / ATT, and is still widely used on workstations, servers and some mobile platforms (like handheld testing units).

If they need spare parts for their computers in the future, time-travelling into the past to grab some OS code won't help them. In fact -- they would be better off using their own rapid-prototype units to create them.

What if he lied about the computer?

In 2003 Duke University physics professor Robert G. Brown posted a spirited refutation of John Titor's physics, hilarious debunking right herefocusing primarily on the impossibility of Titor carting around mass-heavy black holes in an automobile and shooting them up with electrons. Brown makes a strong case that Titor's physics and engineering claims are preposterous.

The picture of the bent laser that Titor posted online is a fake, some experts insist. If the gravity outside the car were bending it, as Titor claimed, then all the light would be bent, not just the laser. Titor never addressed this issue, apparently since the paradox was pointed out after his supposed return to the future.

Representing John Titor's supposed family is Larry Haber, a pricey entertainment lawyer based in Celebration, Florida. Also the location of the headquarters of the John Titor Foundation, Celebration is a master-planned community on Disney-owned real estate outside Orlando. Haber, one of Celebration's first residents, has been a Disney attorney. Some suspect that Haber or his teenage son may have originally propagated the hoax as a merchandising scheme or as a way to bring traffic to TimeTravelInstitute.com, where Titor's first postings appeared. Interestingly, the Web site originally had the same bulletin board administrator as the town of Celebration. Oliver Williams (the current editor of JohnTitor.com and compiler of our accompanying interview) is also suspected of being the supposed time traveler, using the John Titor Foundation as a cover.

The Duke University professor is not to well versed in physics....
I found this with a simple search:

Robert G. Brown states "you are just lucky I'm not a serious physicist" or "I'm not really an expert in differential geometry or general relativity"

How would he know "how" the machine works?

Anyway you need to be more specific, do you want that in grams, kilograms or newtons?
What about it's length, frequency and temperature etc...?

You have to be kidding this is 2011... the raids you see today or 'should I say you don't see in the MSM' is much more evolved than what they did back in the 90's. You would have to be living in a hole to not see the police state, not enough space here on ATS to add all the Waco type events.
