Just trying to brainstorm where they might land.

If we check the NOAA Solar Calculator for Sunrise, Sunset, Solar Noon and Solar Position for Any Place on Earth we might be able to pinpoint where they will land.

The calculator defaults to some place in Kansas Lat 39.833, Lng -98.583

www.esrl.noaa.gov...

Lat 39.833, Lng -98.583 is the geographic center of the United States. Where we find this monument near by. There appears to be some disagreement over the location of the center.

Now let's plug in Dec 21, 2012 into the calculator

Equation of Time (minutes) = 1.57

Solar Declination (degrees) = -23.44

Apparent Sunrise = 07:52

Solar Noon = 12:32:46

Apparent Sunset = 17:13

I'm not saying that this is the landing site, but it could lead us to the landing site.

The idea that 2012 is significant to anything other than internet conspiracy and new age rejects is absurd. It has nothing to do with anything, and this is not going to be a landing site at all.

I know there is a desperate belief (borderline religious like) for some to site behind a desk and find something....anything they can tie into 2012.....but it is futile. After 2012 is up (and you can bet there will be plenty of internet hoaxes and ignorant chatter) you will all be proven to be a little to open minded. However, that will not stop you from moving on to the next big thing.

May I suggest picking a date of some conspiracy in the future that you wont live to see? That way you can't be wrong

Apparently the Mayans disagreed with your theory.

... this is not going to be a landing site at all.

How can you be so sure?

Yeah, some ancient ignorant culture disagrees with me, but zillions of modern educated scholars know I'm right, lol.

How is someone like you not amazed at the fact that the world doesn't end, or a new "age" starts just because you haven't went out and bought a new refrigerator calendar before you old one ran out?

You may be proven wrong, but it is a reasonable assumption.

Part of what skeptics fail to realize is that science is a game of experimentation.

Experiments are the step in the scientific method that arbitrates between competing models or hypotheses. Experimentation is also used to test existing theories or new hypotheses in order to support them or disprove them. An experiment or test can be carried out using the scientific method to answer a question or investigate a problem. First an observation is made. Then a question is asked, or a problem arises. Next, a hypothesis is formed. Then experiment is used to test that hypothesis. The results are analyzed, a conclusion is drawn, sometimes a theory is formed, and results are communicated through research papers.

A good experiment usually tests a hypothesis. However, an experiment may also test a question or test previous results.

Replication of results is "a standard procedure in the validation of any scientific discovery."

"Science was long protected from fraud by a built-in safety mechanism: to be generally accepted, experiments must be repeatable by others."

Ignorant?

They knew more about the Universe and space than you ever will.
And you can call them ignorant?

'

Deny what?

ok then, embrace it, your choice.

Talk about ignorant!

But I guess, as your name says..
Who cares about the facts.. just ignore them...
oh ignorant one.

I dont believe in 2012 being valid any mor than you do, but I think to call the ancient Mayan culture ignorant is a gigantic mistake and proves your own ignorance.

If you have another way to figure out where the aliens will land, I'd love to hear it.

I don't know if it matters but the top picture in the thread, the stone monument has thirteen stones on the side. Most likely mason related.

What's the connection between the supposed geographic centre of the United States, the NOAA Solar Calculator, 2012 and Alien's landing sites?

You're right 13 stones on the left side of the monument, I hadn't seen that.

I count 13 on the left and 14 on the right.

Damned interesting if you ask me.
