Is Hizbullah trying to take over Lebanon with Iran's help?

Hizbullah and Iran now have a common interest in escalating tensions in the Middle East: Hizbullah, with the help of Iran, may be planning to stage a coup in Lebanon to cover up and divert attention from its role in the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s plan to visit Lebanon in the coming weeks should be seen in the context of Hizbullah’s plot to take over the country.

It fits some of the rumors that have been going around in this area. Why now though?

The UN-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon is about to publish the results of its investigation into the killing of the former prime minister. According to reliable sources, the report is expected to hold Hizbullah responsible for the assassination. Now that its true face is about to be unmasked, Hizbullah is, of course, panicking and searching for ways to get out of the sinkhole.

A U.N. Report about the assassination of the country's former Prime Minister that places the blame on Hizzbullah. We have seen several debates about Israeli actions with the Flotilla, with countries demanding answers after the UN report on that was released. Groups / Countries were upset with Israeli's lack of cooperation and "over reaction" to the incident.

N ow that the shoe is on the other foot, we get this:

Hizbullah’s rhetoric and actions in recent weeks suggest that the Shi’ite organization is up to no good.
Statements issued by Hizbullah leaders in the past few days indicate that the organization has evil plans. Nawwaf al-Moussawi, a Hizbullah MP in the Lebanese parliament, warned that any Lebanese who accepted the international tribunal’s indictment findings would be killed as a “collaborator” with Israel and the US.

With the recent computer virus in Iran, the explosion at their Shahaab III storage facility, medium range missiles going to Hezbollah...

I would say we are pretty close to an absolute disaster.

Well Iran and Hezbollah got their answer:

Lebanon Says ‘No’ to Iran Axis

Following Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's controversial visit to Lebanon this week, Lebanese daily 'An Nahar' reported on Friday that Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri rejected a proposal by Iranian President Ahmadinejad that Lebanon join the regional axis, which currently consists of only Iran and Syria.

According to the Lebanese newspaper's sources, Hariri told Ahmadinejad that the Lebanese "coexistence formula" does not allow Lebanon to join any regional alliances and that such steps require consultations among the Lebanese parties.

And he goes one step further with a shot cross the bow to Hezbollah and Iran:

However, Hariri added "The culture of confronting Israel has been deep-rooted in the minds of the Lebanese since a long time and that they are the ones who have suffered the highest prices and sacrifices in this confrontation in order to support the Arabs' main cause - the Palestinian cause," according to the report.

Should we take wagers on how long it will take for a complete Hezbollah take over of Lebanon's government?

Take over within 3 months, border skirmishes with 6 months, war on the Israel, Lebananon, Syria, Gaza borders within a year. Hezbollah is Irans' by-proxy weapon with wihich to attack Israel. It's coming. I have no doubts that Israel will nuke Damascus when the time comes.

No, Hizbullah have much support in Lebanon, they are part of the government.

That being said, they can come to power Democratically, just like Hamas, then again the West might blockade Lebanon also

Iran has promise to supply weapons to the Lebanese army, to defend itself from Zionist aggression.

The Zionist days are over, because countries are actually supporting the other side now

Yeah, that would be the best! No more secular, free Lebanon, from now on it's crazy Muslim Lebanon! Say goodbye to your infidel jeans and skirts, girls, and hello to your brand new Burkah (6 children not included)!

Riiiight.... Weren't they suspected of murdering the last prime minister? And isn't there leader wanted by the Lebanese courts, only he's refusing to show up, and, in fact, would not allow himself to be arrested by being escorted by his Hezbollah goons when the Police showed up?
Oh, they're just the best of friends aren't they?

Wow oozi, you're so knowledgeable.. Keep up the good work..
