I hope Palin is not the candidate. But if it comes down between her and Obama then, yes. Its more important for me to hold politicians who have already had their crack at power accountable then to sit it out anytime my perfect challenger isn't on the ballot.

If she runs, and she wins, than that's what the majority wanted. That's the way it's supposed to work, and it does.

From George Washington to Barak Obama, an uninterupted run of successful elections. This next one, irregardless of who runs and wins will just be another success. You don't like who runs? Well, gee whiz, you know how to fix it. Run your own damn selves. You don't like Palin? Run agin' 'er. You don't like any candidate, run against 'em. Or, if that's too much trouble, vote against 'em.

Online Polls and their "results" are absolutely meaningless... Much more so than even their offline counterparts.

One could readily "sway the results" in a matter of minutes using only a carefully crafted URL ... followed by repeated striking of the F5 key.

I have always doubted an outcome that was 49 to 51
That smells like a false finish to me.
I feel the population is too diverse in its opinions to be that split down the middle.

As for polls...I rarely find them credible with no bias intentions.

Well put. There's no need for hanging yourself though. This is why Solon stated that democracy is more cruel than tyranny. It is to the point where I cannot even take in the news.
