Bit late as its just starting now but for those with the Sundance channel there is a 3 part mini-series that chronicles Carlos The Jackal:

Beginning in the 1970s, the film charts the course of fear blazed by the infamous, Venezuela-born international terrorist Ilich Ramírez Sánchez, who came to be known as Carlos the Jackal. Assayas mixes historical fact and actual footage with an imagined personal life, profiling the man who helped launch the high-stakes, guerrilla warfare attacks that have evolved into the 9/11-style terrorism the world fears today.
