and why would the bringing together of skulls on this particular day be any different to the other yearly events that have taken place where the
skulls have already been close to each other and brought fourth in unison.

with the amount of skulls available and all the powers that these owners believe are held within, shouldn't at least something of significance have happened even if not all 13 were present. how are 13 together any different than any other number being joined as one in the same place.
these meetings are more just show and tell workshops to get people to buy into believing all this supernatural mumbo jumbo, a way to promote the maya's history and belief system that they are the ones to save the world through some obscure prophecy they may have made 1000's of years ago.

The skulls have since been proven a hoax. The original skull was bought from some oddity or antique dealer. It had markings that suggested it had been carved with a diamond tipped instrument, something even a dentist would have at the time.
