I wanted to do this thread as a companion piece to my other thread about Democratic signage. A little tit for that, so to speak. The other thread is When Republicans Win.

A little bit of background for those not interested in the sister thread; I recently received an email from the Democrats asking me to donate money to make a bunch of signs. The signs claimed, basically, that the republicans are the cause of all the problems and that if they get elected here is what is going to happen.

Now that is all fine and good, of course, normal electrion rhetoric full of sound and fury signifying nothing. The problem is when people see that and make the assumption that since the other side is bad, their side must be good. So let us look at the signs the republicans are putting up all over my neighborhood.

In my opinion, both sides are full of it and these guys are just proving it with these signs. They all play from the same playbook and we the people are the schmucks who get run over every election cycle.

When I first saw your thread title, I though it was serious, where you think that voting for either of the two major parties will benefit us.

In fact, I think that this is the problem. The Republicans screw us for a while and so the people get mad and vote in the Democrats. Then, the Democrats screw us for a while and the people get mad and vote the Republicans back in office. So forth and so on, meanwhile we just keep getting screwed and the same interests benefit all along. It's like a see-saw with a bowling ball and we are in the middle. Each time a side goes up (and the other goes down), we get whacked with the bowling ball.

Neither side is looking out for our interests and while the Democrats look like they are pandering to the lower class, it is only an illusion, as everything they enact only helps the corporations. Same with the Republicans, to where they claim to be giving us more fiscal freedoms but in fact, they are only helping the corporations. Look at the Democrats and this so-called health care reform for instance, where it is really only a boon for the health care industry, particularly the insurence industry. Also, look at the Republicans with their so-called tax-breaks, to where the only ones making anything due to these tax-breaks, are the super-wealthy elite and large corporations. It's not like the Republicans spend any less, thus we just go into debt and our deficits sky-rocket, ultimately making the money in your bank worthless, while corporate interests are cradled.

Both sides are statist, though only for the control aspect and because it helps corporate America. Neither side really pays attention to the Constitution and neither side holds the interests of the people above the interests of superficial entities. Both sides are for war and both sides are spineless when dealing with the powerful corporate interests that really run the show.

When the Democrats set policy that looks like they are intending to help the people, it's only because it ultimately helps corporate America and they do it in a way that doesn't help the people at all. They are dangling a poisoned carrot in front of us, while whacking us in the back with a piked baseball bat and keeping us ignorant that we are even being hit with that bat. The Republicans are the same, mind you.

If you look back throughout history, dictators and police states have always sprung up after opposition movements have been quelled. Well, here in America, we have no effective opposition movement because the people are lead to believe that both parties are each other's opposition movement. Neither one of these parties opposes the other on the issues that really matter. Instead, they distract us with superficial and relatively unimportant issues, while screwing us on the matters that they are keeping us ignorant about. People always claim that congress is incompetent or never gets anything done and what people don't realize, is that nothing ever gets done because they simply don't want to do it. It's not that they are incompetent, rather it's that they have another agenda and their agenda isn't what they tell us it is.

All in all, where the rubber meats the road, they both bow down to the same masters and they both promote interests that are contradictory to our own. Most people are too ignorant to see it and so don't even realize what's happening, they just know that something is wrong. Because things aren't getting better and instead getting worse, they blame congress for being incompetent but incompetence is not to blame, as they are doing it intentinally because everything they are doing benefits the elite, corporate and special interests.

Until we organize an opposition movement, they are going to drive this country down the tubes, though not that they haven't already. Our collapse is already inevitable, though now we have to fight for what's going to happen after we go to our knees. If we don't organize soon, then not only are we going to find ourselves (and our children) with a collapsed economy, but also oppression of the highest order, where freedom will be something that our children yearn for when being told fairy tales of the times when the people were free, but dropped the ball and let that freedom slip through their fingers. We have to peacefully organize is best as we can and I know that's hard. For one thing, we have to get the government's permission to organize and assemble, which in of itself is indictaive of how far from freedom and liberty we have slipped.

When the Tea Parties first came about, I though that this was the movement, the movement where America is organizing to take our freedom back and oust those corrupt and tyrannical politicians who have such a tight grip on government. However, those dreams were quickly shattered after the '08 elections and the neo-con defeat, as they ordered their lynch men to hijack the movement and take controll of the opposition to sew confusion and stear it away from the trajectory of taking our republic back.

It is these kinds of tactics that we are working against and while they may seem impossible to counter, they aren't, as we can use their strength and cunning against them.

Sadly the fact that the tea parties were so easily coopted shows that it wasn't the movement.

The problem with libertarians and tea partiers is their inherently right leaning. So whenever the Republicans tell a few lies half of em run to the polls and forget about real 3rd party solutions.

Until we see a movement with whites blacks
Asians Mexicans and natives standing arm
in arm demanding our countries and rights.

And the movement at this point must be worldwide to eliminate these crooks hideouts.

The republican incumbents have been getting their just deserts.

So far, quite a few of them have lost their primaries.

Of course, the process of changing politicians can not actually accomplish anything, since all politicians lack the political will to end the spending spree.

America will devolve into a banana republic, with a completely devalued currency, a socialist economy, and a totalitarian police state.

We can only hope that the coming currency implosion is so brutal that it simply wipes out the existing government all together, since that is the only way a return to sound money will occur.

when you vote for a Republican
you're voting for a Democrat by proxy.

Vote something other than the 2 party system.

I saw a bumper sticker today that read:

"Blind faith in bad leaders
is NOT Patriotism"

and it kinda hit home for me.

It matters not to which political ideals you subscribe, unless of course you subscribe to a statist, authoritarian political view-point. I, myself happen to be a right leaning libertarian, though I like to think that I can see through the BS. With that being said, I happen to know quite a few left-leaning libertarians, all of which championed the Tea Party movement from the outset. I met several more lefties (not even lefty libertarian) taking part in Tea Party activism, at least until the movement was hijacked and redirected towards "neo-conism".

Just like the neo-cons hijacked the Republican party decades ago, they kind of did the same thing with the Tea Party movement. Had they have set their sites on the Democrats, then it would have been the same thing, only on the other side of the paradigm. I don't solely blame the Republicans at all for the hijacking of the Tea Party movement, instead I share that blame with the neo-cons, both Republican and Democrat.

The Democrats had just as much to do with the hijacking of the Tea Party, as did the Republicans. Just by the Democrat's opposition to the Tea Party and grouping it in with the Republican and "right" agenda, they helped completely label the Tea Party movement as "right" and the problem with that, is that it isn't really "right", so much as it is neo-con.

American politics has been twisted and spun to define something else entirely. We are fed a bunch of crap and directed to see politics in only one dimension, left-right. However, even this is often confused and because we only see it in that one dimension, somethings that aren't "right" at all, only seem to be that way due to limited viewpoint of a one dimensional model.

However, it is not because of political subscriptions that allowed the Tea Party to lose its focus, instead ignorance can claim that victory. It is this ignorance of reality that leads people astray and leaves them vilnerable to distractions. Generally speaking, people are followers, which allows leaders to take advantage of those that are following and it also allows others to pretend to be leaders in an effort to exploit those that follow them.

--airspoon

Just to note:

When the Tea Parties first sprang up and even after they gained a lot of popularity, the movement had just as many "left" Democrats, as it had "right" Republicans. It really was a bi-partisan effort and was focused solely on bringing America back to American principals. It was about taking our out of control government back and putting it in the hands of Americans once again. Almost all media outlets were talking down on the Tea Party, to include FOX News. They were demonizing the movement and it still grew to a monstrous size.

It was America waking up from a grass-roots level. Americans for all over the political spectrum weren't happy with what they were seeing and they were demanding change beyond the superficial left-right bickering. However, I quickly realized that in order for those in control to keep their corrupt status quo, they would have to do something and what they did is typical.

They simply turned it into a left-right issue. That's it. By turning it into a left-right issue, then it gets refocused back on to the superficial things that have distracted us all along, instead of the very important things that the Tea Party was demanding, the things that transcended the relatively unimportant issues of left-right politics. TPTB turned it's popularity against the movement, thus getting it back into a left-right format.

I'm sure that there were some elites who are now saying, "wheeeew!, that was close".

It doesn't matter if you vote Republican or not. I believe the voting system is already rigged (froth with fraud and what nots) to support whatever agenda or motives that happen to serve, you guessed it, the wealthy politicians and pals (albeit business-backed, special interest groups). Meh!

Let's see, vote for the same group of mindless, moronic, idiots who are solely responsible for this mess or do the right thing by kicking all GOP, Dems, Independants out of office and make sure the Tea Party never sees political office and vote for everyday, honest, decent Americans and watch how real change we all can believe in happns because by voting in a GOP majority in like 3 weeks means more of the following Let us not forget about the fact that the TP and GOP is running 2 females who in reality have no platform to stand on. Since when did who was hotter physically dictate alone who gets into office? BTW, Sarah Palin is the best the GOP can do? C'mon now, she jumped ship in Juneau when things got too hairy and you honestly and truly are worshiping the ground she walks on like if she's the Second Coming.

The entire GOP plan in a nutshell :

1. Continue and guarantee that the top 10% of earners don't have to contribute a thing to the economy.
2. Continually allow the banks to do whatever the flip they want and to blindly give them another multi trillion dollar bailout package whenever they get a bug up their tail.
3. Continually send our jobs oversees which will double and triple the unemployment rates.
4. Engage us in an armed conflict with Iran and North Korea while keeping the Wars Over Energy going.
5. Deny people the basic right to essential services like Medicaid, Social Security and cancel all social programs effectively leaving those like me who are unable to hold down a 40 hour 5 day a week job to fend for ourselves!
6. Allow time and time again the poisoning of our food and water supply while protecting the companies that are harming us.
7. Kill off the electric and non petrolchemical powered transportation.
8. Allow for more foriegn influence into our process domestically (law passages, elections)
9. Kill off any non white people!
10. Kill our chance to compete on the world's stage while cutting public school education while leaving the private schools alone.
11. Turn this "War On Terrorism" into a "Holy War" between Islam-Muslim and Christian-Hebrew!
12. Allow time and time again your health insurance company the control to deny you and your family any treatment they want. < These are the real "Death Panels" a bunch of insurance company employees sitting around dictating who gets what coverage.
13. Do nothing about this immigrant issue so the multi trillion dollar lobbyists firms can contunally exploit them for cheap and dirt cheap labour all the while not demanding that any of it remains stateside all while evading the Federal Income Tax laws,
14. Allow you to lose your job and home for whatever reason your employer and lender dictates and not have the populous the right to challenge any claim.
15. Return to an era whereas an African American was legally declared 2/3 of a person and Women weren't allowed out of the kitchen, forget about having the right to own property, hold down a job, have a say in matters pertaining to thier own bodies, have the right to vote, be forced to endure consistant beatings and belittements if they didn't have dinner done in time, being subjected to forced spousal rape. Do y'all really want to subject your daughters, mothers, sisters, aunts to this? African Americans would be forced back into the cotton fields stripped of all rights, properties, jobs, and all money earned. McCain admitted this while on The View in Ear 08!
