Do countries with modern ships paint camouflage on them any more? (Not Stealth Ships)

I haven't seen modern ships with camouflage but I think they did it on older ships like in WWII.

no they dont really
the most they'll do is paint patrol boats and such camo style.
camo paint wouldnt be good in the middle of the ocean

Then why was it used on ships before?

Did they get it wrong and didn't know it was not good?

it is partially useful but because before ww2 they only could find ships by eyesight. but now with radar you can find ships from beyond visual range
but the camo paint would break up the shape and would confuse them as to what type of boat it was

no. Ships now use different materials and shape to get stealth but before they used camo to confuse not the be stealthy.
