Looking at the standings now, I can't help but notice something wrong...
If you look at the NFC West, you will see Seattle is leading the division with a 5-5 record.
If you look at the NFC South, you will see Tampa Bay is in third place with a 7-3 record.
Given that there are only two wild card spots available, and three teams with 7-3 records who are not leading their divisions (Green Bay, New Orleans,
and Tampa Bay), if the playoffs started today, one of those three teams would not make the playoffs and the Seattle Seahawks would just because they
are atop their division.
Does anyone else see an issue with that or is it just me? Shouldn't the playoffs be for the top six teams who performed the best in the win-loss
column? In my opinion, you shouldn't get an automatic bid to the playoffs just because you sucked the least in your division.
That's just how I see it though. Anyone else?
