You can count on it..

You are our mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters.. Thats why we enlisted.. Because we love you and would gladly die for you..

Those in government do not have power over THAT!

I imagine most people, with hindsight, don't support war, but our troops- IN GOOD FAITH, didn't stop to ponder all the political nuances of the threat we faced, whether it was real or a confabulation. They followed their instinct to protect those they love (which includes you, by the way- even though they don't even know your name) even if they went through hell & died to do it. This time, they volunteered, but the last big war we were engaged in wasn't a matter of choice (unless one happened to be born into affluence or political connection) and it was a democratic president who gave them no choice. To vilify our soldiers is the epitome of ingratitude.
Care to volunteer to be our "human shield" corps if the US IS ever directly attacked? Maybe a "sit in" is all we need. /s

I suppose that fighting & dying (for the little people, not you) might only be "worthy" if it were for communism or socialism- a "new Amerika". Worked for the Bolsheviks.

as long as man exists
as long as borders exist
as long as nations exist

there will always be war

look in all of human recorded history this day right now and this moment in time has all been shaped from it.

Does a part of you guys who say "war will never end", not want war to ever end? Would it make the world a more boring, less heroic place to you?

Just bringing out the question not accusing you guys of anything.

I support the troops in an emotional way, I have had 3 of my closest friends go to Iraq on 4 tours, 2 are in the army one is in the marines.... and Im so scared for them when they leave, I send care packages, and keep in touch with letters, emails, myspace, or phone calls... I support them and thier descion, I do not support the cause...we were lied to on every level, and I do not support an unjust war!! I love my country, but I cant stand the politics and the government.....

I'll leave the troops out of it, since they have a hard enough time as it is, I just get pissed when people say that the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq are defending our freedom. That would be hilarious if it wasn't so twisted and sad. The American Revolution troops defended our freedom, not troops in the desert. I'll tell you this, I do have much respect for veterans, especially those targeted for their beliefs.

Exactly. I think most military people have their hearts in the right place, they're just cynical.

What if I were to tell you that there is less war today than there was any time in the 20th century and pretty much all of history before that?

is there? or is it that war has just become more specialized?

and if you look back through all of history when it comes to the massive death and destruction that follow suit with it

how does todays modern warfare compare?

instead of just senseless wholesale slaughter modern warfare in its self has become a deterrence and the technology that accompanies is killing less than that of the past...

weapons and tactics have become more accurate that in itself speaks to what war has become..........hate to say this but war today is doing more with less and too less....

i am sure there are going to be some who disagree with that assement but i ask you.............are we dropping nuclear bombs today? are we bombing cities and leveling them into dust like we did with dresden and tokyo?

answer is a resounding no.

No, unless otherwise bred, they're easily led.

I'm not interested in being a pawn of the NWO folks.

Thanks, but no thanks.

We can keep on arguing until the cows come home. The bottom line is that there are people who don't support either and they have every right to do so.

I'm sure if you had your way, everyone would be an hyper-patriotic tool of the system.

The "It's human nature" argument is a poor argument to justify wars around the world. It's practically how TPTB galvanize entire populations to murder the folks over yonder, etc.

Just because we think that we're programmed as warriors, does not mean that we have to fulfill that role. I believe people have the power nowadays to completely obliterate that line of thinking.
