Casting Call Notice from Backstage

A 'town hall' audience .. yeah, right.

MTV wants to see pictures of the people for their 'town hall' audience.
MTV and BET are left. What is CMT? Country Music Television?? Something else?

MTV put a 'casting call' out in a job bank for people looking for acting jobs.
It'll be acting alright.

Sad, but not surprising. MTV wants to look like they have a "hip" audience. They are probably also wanting to make sure their audience is "color-balanced".
CMT is indeed Country Music TV, btw.

If this is a paying gig, I'm sure my tax dollars will be involved.

This will probably turn into a new reality TV show for MTV.
Just what we need, watching Obamabots living their lives in real time.

It's about profits.

Take an example, my girlfriend won't watch any film, no matter how good it is, if the people in it aren't at least slightly attractive. She isn't shallow, she just has a problem with understanding why they cast those specific people and didn't cast more attractive ones. It's a nag about the technical side that gets to her and prevents her from watching the movie properly.

Now, imagine the sort of people that make "Jersey Shore" popular. Do you think they care about watching average looking people?
