Thirty tankers carrying oil for NATO forces in Afghanistan have been destroyed after militants armed with assault rifles launched a seventh attack on fuel convoys. In the second attack within 24 hours, militants opened fire on oil tankers parked along a road in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan, as they were making their way to a mountain pass into Afghanistan. Flames from the ruptured tankers were so fierce soldiers and medics have been unable to approach them to determine if there have been any casualties. It is the latest in a series of attacks targeting the NATO tankers as they ship fuel through mountain passes to NATO forces. NATO officials have denied the attacks have caused supply problems for troops as hundreds of trucks are still gaining access into Afghanistan through the other Pakistan pass and via other central Asian states.

The Pakistani Taliban know how to dry up the U.S.-NATO war machine in Afghanistan hard - real damn hard - shoot up their fuel supplies, the critical ingredient for any military machine.

Cut off funding to Pakistan and this nonsense will end. They are simple playing both sides of the fence, Cut off funding and make them choose.

The Taliban must study military history, It reminds me off Field Marshall Paulus doomed sixth army marching to Stalingrad, Were the partisans simply attacked the rear main supply routes, (up to 400 Kms long) He eventually had to rely on air support which could not keep up with supply and demand, And maybe this is the ruse of the Taliban ??,

Ok, this is getting majorly fishy. These attacks are organised, strategic assaults conducted flawlessly and acting on perfect intelligence. One or two operations I would let slip, but this many?

The Taliban take responsibility for every action detrimental to the Coalition effort; has it yet been proven that it was them?

maybe we should look at the reason those tankers are stuck there in the first place.

So they say it hasn't caused supply problems because supply trucks are getting to them via other routes. If that is the case, why keep using the dangerous one? Or only use the dangerous one to supply non explosive material.
