The Denver Post is reporting the U.S. Army officials plan to file negligent-homicide and manslaughter charges against two Fort Carson-based military
intelligence officers who allegedly suffocated an Iraqi general during an interrogation in November.

I remember hearing about this incident some time ago. It seems the delay in filing charges was due to an internal Army conflict between the
commanding officer and the military lawyers.
This seems so out of the norm for our uniformed services. That is, we either never mistreated prisoners or we did mistreat prisoners but never
prosecuted.
