After watching that video they don't seem so bad..

The pictures made them look like a bunch of crazy socialist. I don't know why socialism is demonized.. it has some clearly good aspects.

The Progressive Movement is not socialist!
Progressism

In general Progressivism stands most truly at the opposite pole from economic elitism, and has enjoyed its greatest support and successes precisely when the injustice, exploitation, arrogance, and greed of economic elites become intolerable — to both liberals and conservatives alike.

You need to learn about your history.

HA! A history that is self written, sounds like something another "ism" would do. Hmmmm. Next time try using a more unbiased link to make your point. Makes you look kinda silly.

Well I'll say this.
We have been doing it the Republican and Democratic way for how many years now?....
And look where we are....stalled nation...bogged down under economic weight of a government that was put in place by the ONLY 2 PARTIES who have been in control...And yet to this day the very people who voted these two train wrecks in have the balls to point at other party's and howl "their ideas won't work"...Wow...Imagine that...here we are in a Capitolistic train wreck finger pointing about a party that hasn't had a chance to see if they can do any better....

FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when i was in college i was invited to a socialist meeting by a friend. it seemed the main goal of the meeting was to collect peoples names. they became very irritated when i refused to put my name and signature on their attendance sheet. I hate to be "that guy" but i believe the recent socialist movement to be cia sponsored for future tactical use or mccarthy style political blackmail when these college kids hit the real world.

Adolf Hitler was a Fascist though. Much different then a Communist or a Socialist. Both groups hate one another.

Different in economic theory.

Precisely the SAME in political practice..

This is where both sides get you - they try to cover up and hide the centralization of power. Doesn't matter if that's done on the right or the left - the end results are the same. Meanwhile, folks are bickering back and forth over economic theory while political reality is sneaking up behind them.

RINO's = Neocons = what the folks on the left are trying desperately to pass off as "Republicans"(but which are decidedly NOT) >>> all trying to grow government, and centralize power. We call these people "fascists" when we are being honest with ourselves.

DINOs = Progressives = what folks on the right are trying to pass off as "Democrats" (but which are decidedly NOT) >>> All trying to grow government, and centralize power. We call these people "communists" when we are being honest with ourselves.

Two opposite ends of the political spectrum, yet BOTH have the same goal of growing government, centralizing power, and leading us into a deeper level of slavery. I have to ask, what's the REAL difference here? Just what we call them? How does that differ to the folks in the gulags and concentration camps? Is the only difference the name you want to hang on the evil that IS?

I bet that's the only difference to the folks in the camps, which is to say there's no difference at all to them regarding the people that put them there.

No difference at all to me between collectivists and corporatists. They can do whatever they want, but when they force ME into their schemes, whatever the scheme of the day is, expect trouble.

Remember, kids, danger come from neither the right nor the left, it comes from whoever gets the power centralized first. That would be the enemy of us ALL, and folks are gonna miss it when it happens, because they're too busy concentration on the left/right paradigm and trying to demonize the other side.

"Divide and conquer".

"United we stand".

Those are more than catchy phrases. There's REAL meaning behind them.

I still say throw every last one of them out this November 2nd, and start with a whole new slate.

I like the one pic with the marching. What I see is two failed college morons, who realised they are lazy and dont want to do hard labor for a living. So instead they act like a seasoned political warrior. A complete cherade of whining for the mistake they made that maybe they awerent smart enough to excell through a college atmosphere. They need to latch onto somthing...anything that takes their thoughts off of the fact they didnt plan ahead, or they might actually have to work forty or more hours a week earning money for somone who put the time and money into a college education.

I can't wait until Oct. 30th for the rally to restore sanity, you'll see our numbers compared to the capitalist rally to protect corporate wealth and realize you don't have a chance at getting republicans back in control.

See ya back here on 3 November. Deal?

Really, your whole post here is a fine example of what I refer to as partisan sniping. Don't look for solutions to the problems, just keep shooting at the "other guys" - and never realizing that you are them.

To be perfectly honest, I'd prefer that the Republicans don't get back into power, either - but they couldn't do any worse than what we have now.

What we really need is a whole new batch - and change 'em out every 6 or 8 years, the whole bunch, before they can get real good and corrupted.

I'm so close to becoming an ex-patriot because of the sheer stupidity that is mounting here in America, I don't want to be associated with you people when I say I'm an American.

I'm with ya on that! I don't much want to associate with "you people", either! Don't let the door bump your ass on the way out...

You can't convince the Tea Partiers. They have their mind sets by Glenn Beck and the rest of Fox News. There is no hope for these people......
But they are fun making fun of,

I can usually tell what someone FEARS the most, what they see as the most credible "threat" to their agenda, from what they rail against the hardest.

Have you ever had a post at ATS that didn't include the words "Tea Partiers" or "Glenn Beck"?

Ever?

I have some friends involved in the Tea Party. I'll be sure and let them know that they're having a strong effect!

Yeah, as a matter of fact, I would prefer the Libertarians.

I think it is hightime the Libertarians do the same thing the progressives have done with the Democrats.

Takeover the Repub Party.

Infiltrate the Repub party like the communists and socialists have done with the Democrats.

Funny how the people want to imagine a political movement of choice, yet attempt to infiltrate by subversion. Oh well.

Well, I was a Republican for near 40 years, until the Neocons infiltrated and took over the party, then I swore off of Republicans. Can't imagine ever voting for another one. Now, if the Libertarians infiltrated and took over from the Neocon infiltration... well, that just gets TOO confusing - I wouldn't know to vote for 'em, because they're calling themselves Republicans!

Personally, I think Republicans ought to infiltrate and take over the Republican party - but we'd never know now if they did, because Republicans seem to have left them in the dust, just like they did us...

Oh the humor! We have infiltrated our own party!

It is so sad it is funny!

Too bad our favorite dude to stand for our party was an infiltrator himself.

If the U.S. ever turns to socialism im going to sit on my fat ass and play video games all day, collect a check, while the rest of you go to work producing the goods and food I'll need.

See why this fails...? See why welfare is Pre-socialism?

True that. When the time comes that no one can better themselves by hard work, no one works hard.

I found an excelllent example of this today. 69 million in CA welfare was spent on Miami cruises, Las Vegas, and Hawaii, dont forget Disneyland.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Albeit, the facts are depressing, and a grand display of how the
Welfare Capitalism has failed; Socialism is not the answer.

Thought this post by Nenothtu really nailed it...

the garbage doesn't surprise me...it wasn't long ago we seen how much garbage and debris was scattered careless throughout the grounds of the inauguration. i am pretty sure there was more people present during the filming of forest gump as opposed to this propaganda convention. i do admire them for there patriotism in expressing their views but this was a not very well thought out dog and pony show. my favorite part was the video of the interview with the young kindred spirit that was so emphatic about the need to take up violence against the capitalist elites, at least he has the courage to speak his opinion no matter how misguided it may, or may not be.

Wow everyones arguing right and left this is sad really. In truth socialism is not a bad thing the left side of the spectrum is for personal freedom the right side is for financial freedom. Now any country that swings to far left or right will fail. Whats needed is centrists they will balance personal and business freedoms. By the way just so you guys know progressives of today are the communist party of the past they are not socialists.

And something else to think about the declaration of independence is a socialist document. The founder fathers were not against socialism. However they did want checks set in place even they understood you dont want the pendulum to swing to far in any direction.

The left end of the spectrum is most certainly NOT for "individual freedom"! The left is, by convention, collectivist, the antithesis of "personal" freedom. The left is for whatever they think promotes the greater good of the collective.

The right swings the pendulum the other way - whatever they think is best for the individual - dog eat dog, sink or swim on individual effort and merit.

Omg... You guys do know that there is tons of socialist systems that work perfectly. Around here not everyone is sitting on their ass collecting welfare because they could.
