Wow, this is ridiculous.
Thank you for these pictures.

this is from their website:
One Nation Working Together

One Nation Working Together is a social movement of individuals and organizations committed to putting America back to work and pulling America back together. Coming from a diverse set of backgrounds, experiences, beliefs and orientations, we are determined to build a more united country with good jobs, equal justice, and quality public education for all.

Oh... that's what they were doing....

is it any wonder that the same people who would flaunt those signs (probably wearing face masks or some other cowardly thing) would trash such a beautiful part of our nations capital by the time they were done?

Those aren't real pictures

Apparently, the popular chant of the day was something like this "Obama ain't no Socialist, we are we are"

Watch those double negatives folks

What a rally. Funny how the usual suspects aren't touching this event with a 10 foot pole.

I highly doubt that the Stewart and Colbert rally will be much different.

It's true. President Obama is no socialist and these folks hate it!
My friends are socialist.

The Progressive Movement is not socialist!
Progressism

In general Progressivism stands most truly at the opposite pole from economic elitism, and has enjoyed its greatest support and successes precisely when the injustice, exploitation, arrogance, and greed of economic elites become intolerable — to both liberals and conservatives alike.

You need to learn about your history.

I believe Obama is a socialist within his mind. Sadly, for his supporters, he just hasn't delivered enough politically so far. Obama has had to tone things down a touch. He is POTUS after all. The man is surrounded by socialists and progressives in his inner circle and Obama is just waiting for the next "Nudge" to further advance the agenda. Cass Sunstein will see to that.

The progressive agenda, is cloaked socialism... But if you choose to see it any other way, that works just fine, especially for them.

Either way, destroy capitalism, redistribute wealth, grow government, raise taxes, restrict freedom and liberty, control essential services (healthcare, energy), nationalize finance and major domestic corporations, kill the private sector and the middle class, replaced by a two class system of government and elite, and everyone else.

Yada, Yada.

Happy days ahead, for progressives and socialists alike.

To be honest Obama is more of a collectivist on paper than anything else. Collectivism is the link that binds Socialism, Communism and Progressivism. Everyone is forced to live for others!!

The lines are certainly blurred in this realm.

Come on now! You know I'm talking about the Progressive Movements in the U.S. during the early 1900's. Socialism has nothing to do with it. What is Progressive

Progressivism, like many important concepts, is many things to many people. Nevertheless, it has its own history, its own culture, and its own politics - all wrapped into a potent package that is making its comeback in the political discourse of this great country. The Campus Progress conference is just the latest manifestation of a political movement that is already changing America's political landscape for the better.

Like the article said there are various movements during the American Progressive era. I don't see how it has to do with Socialism. I guess the rights of people are wrong then?

Well you need to understand what is all these ideologies are. Communism, Progressive and Socialism are more then what people assume them to be. I might be a Capitalist but I know what these groups today represent.
