Last week President Barack Obama's most recently minted czar, Special Advisor to the President for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Elizabeth Warren, spoke to 400 bankers at the swanky Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, DC.
She is not the director of the CFPB nor does she even work for it. For her to actually head the agency, President Obama would have to submit her name to the Senate to meet the Constitution's "advice and consent" requirement. But President Obama did not want that transparency. Instead he decided to subvert the Constitution by making her his "special advisor" that would lead a team of "about 30 or 40 people at the Department of Treasury" to set up the CFPB. Yale Constitutional law professor Bruce Ackerman described Obama's Warren chicanery as another milestone down the path toward an imperial presidency.

President Woodrow Wilson wrote in 1891: "Give us administrative elasticity and discretion, free us from the idea that checks and balances are to be carried down through all stages of organization."
The Senate should require an up-or-down vote on all executive branch appointments. The president should require Senate approval of all senior White House appointments. This allows allows the president to govern effectively and the Senate the authority to approve all major appointments—regardless of their location in the executive branch.
How about we put the interests of the country ahead of these politicians own; what an old fashioned idea.
If the president wants advisors; he can pay for them himself or have them approved by the Senate
We don’t need unaccountable czars telling us what to do, eat, wear and say.
The Ruling Class has got to be defeated in November, Republicans, Democrats and Independents.
This excessive growth of power of one branch of government should not be allowed. It must be stopped

Thanks for putting this thread up.

I think it is getting sickening, with all of his talk of transparency when he was on the campaign trail, I can't remember a more 'in your face' bunch of crap since George H W Bush told us to read his lips.

Then you must of forgot George W because in this age of tea parties demanding that the government listen to them. I remember George W saying that the presidency was not a popularity contest and that he didn't have to listen.

Well Mr. Transperancy has done well circumventing things put in place to protect us from people of his ilk.........................there is no surprise here at all. The left has certainly put us back several years now, and it'll only get worse the longer this traitor is in office. It'll be interesting in 2012 to see how many people still fall for his emtpy promises, alot I'd gather, and for the same reasons he got elected this time..............political correctness, misplaced white guilt, and pure unadulterated, in your face racism....................

Nope, didn't forget it.
Just saying that GHW Bush and Obamas campaign pledges and the way that they broke them were extremely blatant and 'in your face'.

The Federal Government has been Imperialist far greater than anyone on these boards has been alive. Someone already posted the words of former President Woodrow Wilson, which was a call for the United States to become an Imperialist power of the world.

I hate wikipedia, but they have it laid out best: Source

Imperialism, as defined by The Dictionary of Human Geography, is "the creation and maintenance of an unequal economic, cultural and territorial relationship, usually between states and often in the form of an empire, based on domination and subordination."

Sounds awfully like the United States of America since actually the Reconstruction Period when the North (Federal Government) basically enslaved the South (mainly States)

Looks like they are seeking to preserve the elite in order maintain law and order while restructuring the economy. The goal could be to secure policies to suit the economic needs of the private corporations and banks of the imperial system. The tactic would be to design policies which maximized private earning. Policies could include the privatization of all strategic economic sectors; the demolition of all open markets, implementation of regressive taxes on local consumers, workers and enterprises while lowering or eliminating taxes and controls over the imperial firms; the elimination of protective labor legislation and outlawing independent class organizations.
