"The American" a review

George Clooney is one of my favorite actors but I don't feel he was cast right for this film. The whole movie seemed contrived; big star, big budget, and hope for a big return.

The plot was unbelievable, the acting was only so so, script so so, local was great, direction meh,
My GF loved this film. I think for the romance and eroticism that was a big sub plot.

If you must see it; rent it and save your money for something that actually needs the big screen/sound.

My wife keeps up on hollywood stuff. I like Clooney, saw the movie..it sucked.

My wife's explanation...his female love interst in the movie? His new girlfriend, the director? a Friend of hers etc.

He hooked up with an Italian chic and endulged her...love/lust makes you do stupid things, or in this case, make bad movies.
