This should help YS watchers with their data collection

A new sensor network installed in Yellowstone National Park this summer will provide scientists and the public near “real-time” data on what’s happening in one of the nation’s most active geyser basins.

This innovative use of new technology will allow the public, park staff, educators, and scientists to observe temperature variations in Norris Geyser Basin, one of Yellowstone’s more dynamic geyser basins,” said Henry Heasler, YNP Geologist.

Saw this under the "Soil temperature near Vixen Geyser" monitoring data page:

"At this site, soil temperature is monitored about 15 cm beneath the ground surface. This region of the Norris Back Basin increased markedly in temperature during the Norris Disturbance of 2003 and soil temperature at this site may be an effective indicator for basin-wide changes in groundwater flow and heat discharge."

The sentence "This region of the Norris Back Basin increased markedly in temperature during the Norris Disturbance of 2003" was interesting... Was this during a swarm event I wonder...
