The U.S. Navy is planning to expand its exercise areas and testing areas. Many fear this will cause the death of many species of marine life. What do you think? Is it something that should be stopped or should the Navy be allowed to do it?

It doesn't matter in the least what the citizens want. The military industrial complex does what it wants in the name of national security and protecting the "Homeland"

Just pay your taxes and STFU.

'Navy Plans to Kill More Marine Life'? what kind of headline is that? this is just an eco-nut take on routine operations. where are these guys when the Russian Navy has exercises? or the Chinese? aren't their ops bad for the environment?
that's why the Iranians developed the Bavar-2. we were discussing it's use; know we know it's an anti-greenpeace platform.

the Navy has to have exercises. the exercises by nature disrupt the environment. oh freaking well.

I'd rather fry a hundred whales, sea snakes or Patagonian Tooth fish, than endanger one sailor due to lack of preparedness when actual combat comes.

The ironic thing is that areas within military exercise zones generally have more diverse and vibrant wildlife. The reason for this is that those area become 'no go' zones for everyone else, and the military use them rarely and infrequently anyway. In the case of the navy, they will deter fishermen from entering those areas. The marine life will be virtually unaffected by naval exercises so we can all relax people.
