Interesting read about a new planet discovered approximately 20 light years away. Scientists have been finding massive gas giant type planets in other solar systems, but this is one of the first earth-size planets found....

Can you imagine on one side the life can see and has eyes,on the other side the life could be blind, and find their way around like bats. In the middle a combination of the two? Or if you want winter go to the other side,if you want warm beaches go the other side! Thanks for putting this up

Yeah it would be interesting to see life develop on a planet where one side was always facing the sun and the other was in perpetual darkness....

With only 116 stars closer to Earth than this one, it was hardly a sure thing that so small a sample group would produce two habitable planets, including Earth. And two such planets may be an undercount, Vogt says, since just nine out of those 100-plus stars have been studied in any detail. Read more: www.time.com...

I don't use the Goldilocks (habitable) rule when I look for intelligence. So far these two candidates look most promising:

en.wikipedia.org...

and

en.wikipedia.org...

Anything is possible, even ringworlds, when we are addressing intelligence.

It's kinda weird, cause we were watching a rerun of Contact earlier this evening and in the movie, the signal was said to be approx 25 light years away. Just made me think about this article. I also heard on the news today, that it would take 500,000 years to travel to it.

it's 20 light years away.... no there is no real pictures othan than CGI and we will never see whats on it. That trip would take us hundreds of thousands of years with our tech

Hm, everyone's been going bla bla bla over this new planet. Also, to get there, use antimatter? (wikipedia)
