Elements within the House Republican leadership "prearranged" an editorial in the National Review praising the GOP's "Pledge to America" manifesto, according to the Daily Caller, in an effort to counteract widespread conservative criticism of the document.

"Two high-level Republican sources" told the right-leaning Daily Caller's Jon Ward that Neil Bradley, a top aide to Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA), pulled strings with senior officials at the National Review Institute to get the editorial published.

The extent of Bradley's involvement was unclear, but he is reportedly close to NRI's president Kate O’Beirne and executive director April Ponnuru.

I like it when we learn of these little "outcroppings" that show us the tactics used by either party to fool the American public. If this doesn't show the level of sincerity, or lack thereof, in the Republican leadership's effort to actually follow the pledge, then I don't know what would. Sadly, there is only a handful of conservatives in the Republican party or even government all together, that is actually conservative and sincere in their efforts to enact conservative policies.

Unfortunately, our Republican leadership touts itself as conservative, embraces liberal ideas, embodies tyrannical principals and then calls it all conservatism. They are basically slapping us in the face and then saying that they didn't do it and it wasn't a slap.

American conservatives are finally waking up to what's happening around us, so the Republican party is dazzling us with lies, saying whatever it takes to acquire power, only to continue on with the same old corrupt agenda that contradicts the interests of the American people. When are we going to learn that their words are as meaningless as a forgotten dream? If they say one thing (this really goes for both parties), rest assured they are going to do another.

Many people are saying that the conservatives are disoriented and in self destruction mode but I beg to differ. Conservatives are waking up the reality that we have been hoodwinked and it is the Republican party (infested by neo-conservatism) that is in disarray. We just had 8 years of Bush's neo-conservatism rammed down our throats and told it was conservatism. America's liberals on the other hand, are not yet awakening, though they should be soon with Obama's brand of Bushism, though it may take a little longer due to the nostalgia and race-card politics.

If this latest bout of hoodwinking by the Republicans with their "Pledge to America" and its fake review isn't indicative of their level of sincerity or integrity, then I don't know what is. Of course this isn't really surprising news for anyone with their eyes half opened anyway. It's just an exposed outcropping of the deceitful tactics used by those in power to fool a public who constantly neglects to do any kind of critical self thinking or connecting the dots to realize the most obvious of patterns.
