The millionaire owner of the UK Segway company has died after apparently riding one of his company's motorised scooters off cliffs and into a river.

Jimi Heselden, 62, crashed into the River Wharfe while riding the vehicle round his estate in Thorp Arch, Boston Spa, West Yorkshire, on Sunday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The scooter was found in the water.

As tacky as it is, I can only see him on the scooter, freezing in mid-air, ala Thelma and Louis.

I am sorry for the pain his family is going through, all jokes aside. RIP

It's hard to believe you can just accidentally run it off a cliff.... unless you are leaning with your eyes closed. RIP

My first thought was conspiracy. I mean, how bizarre that this older man is segwaying around the cliffs? I just don't buy it. I can picture, insert 3 letter company here, just laughing at their plan to segway him off a cliff in his own estate, they never are very subtle. (Sorry to the family, hope I am wrong)

I guess time will tell. If we, in the next couple of years, see some new futuristic plan for the segways, or on the other hand if they disappear completely, that may tell us..
