The Tea Party, as it is today constituted, is made up of zealot evangelical American Christians. This group has been paid lip service by the establishment Republicans for about 25 years now. Those main stream Republicans would cater to them during an election period, then ignore them when they were elected. They voted reliably Republican, just as much as the American Black votes Democratic. However, during that 25 years these ultra-right theocrat leaning fascists slowly amassed power at the local level in school boards and city councils. From there, even as their churches gained massive power, they began founding universities, think tanks and funding candidates for congress in the U.S. House of Representatives. All this influence was only talked about in periodic pieces, with no one really connecting the dots of their path to power. Now, they have amassed enough power and indoctrinated enough of their zealot brethren, that they are the defacto Christian Church in America having usurped (and labeled as invalid and not really Christian) all the historic and moderate Christian groups. As rabid evangelicals, it is their literal mission to convert, by any means necessary. They are so righteous that they believe only they know the truth and that ignorant arrogance extends to their polical views, to their demented interpretation of the Constitution. They believe they have the Divine Right to power and they will have. The Media is having too much fun with the conflict and easy press this "Tea Party" affords them and much like the "normal" Republicans before them, they will not really take this threat seriously until it consumes us all.

In short, the Tea Party and the is Christian Right lunacy is worse than than the Wiemer Republic because it uses God. In short, the Tea Party is the greatest threat to a stable United States and that makes it the greates threat to everyone in the world, and that includes you.

I'm sorry, when you ATTEMPT to cut people down, you should actually be righteous.

awoken past participle of a·wake (Verb)
1. Stop sleeping; wake from sleep.
2. Cause (someone) to wake from sleep: "my screams awoke my parents".

AS IN, "The sleeper has awoken".

Yes, I know it is a word. It is the passive form and you used it as the active. More to the point though, I wrote a rather long response to you full of actual points for you to refute, accept, argue, admit, discuss, whatever and the only think you read was the last couple of lines so you could complain about it? Call me petty some more. Just use your irregular verbs correctly when you do. Maybe you should stop telling me you are done with me as well. I want to take you seriously. I am actually trying.

The Tea PArty is simply what the GOP use to be.But because the world thinks the government is a soluation to world problems and think faith and religion is ruining everything the GOP has to be branded all as lunatics for governments control.Tea Party thinking conservatives use to be the GOP.GOP candidates have jumped back and fourth in parties and have not stood up for thier word in thier elections. Are country is going to collaspe if the government does not stop spending money.
However I do not even trust all the Tea Party candidates once they get in thier and become a senator or whatever.

They call themsleves the Tea Party because of the Boston Tea Party who protested agaisnt being taxed on Tea while others did not have to pay taxes.Same thing going on with the health care bill and the governments control of where and who controls the flow of money.

Be fair, its partialy made up of evangelicals and birthers etc. What i think they really represent to the dissatisfaction of the status quo. The continuation of policies and systems that the average joe can see is just wrong. Too bad fox news and the republicans swallowed them up.

Still haven't read the thread or gone to the link I see. Rand Paul is nowhere on the list from that particular tea party.

Yes I did but I was hoping I would not really have to take the time to point out to you that one small group of Tea Party folks are just ONE SMALL GROUP OF TEA PARTY FOLKS. There are plenty of TP people that do support Rand Paul so what does that say about your list only from ONE SMALL GROUP OF TP FOLKS? Have anything a little more national?

If you people would learn Abraham Lincoln who was agaisnt slavery and started the GOP Party you might understand what real conservative who stick to their word are.If we actualy taught what our fore fathers believe we would learn they where agaisnt the government abuse of power who owned slaves.Their where presidents in the U.S. before George Washington but they never stopped the abuse and control of government.Which would have been British back then and the slave owners. Also George Washington owned a slave. When Abraham Lincoln came along He started the GOP party and was agaisnt the slavery.Civil war eventually stopped Slavery.

I gave you a flag but it wasn't for the George Washington comment. George Washington was the first President of the United States. He wasn't elected. He was appointed.

If you can get past all the nonsense posts that do nothing more than whine and engage in childish insults and name-calling in the 500 tea party threads that already exist you'll find that the tea parties are a collective of Republicans, Democrats, Independents, etc.,

Lets be real, this party is not collective! This is a party of right wing republican radicals who support republican candidates like Sarah Palin and O'Donnell who throw out sound bites that attract the republican fringe. Anyone in their right mind with any common sense can see through this pathetic and racist party. Unfortunately, we have a lot of uneducated Americans in this country that rely on TV sound bites and party spin when they cast their votes. Too many Americans are too lazy to really research the issues to find out who is really telling the truth or how various types of legislation will affect them. This country was hijacked by propagating fear by the last administration. The world was speechless when Bush won a second term. That should tell you much about why the tea party gets so much attention.

Basically it is.... check your brain at the door, bring all your emotional baggage and trust that Glen Beck and Sarah Palin are god's messengers, listen to what they say and mix in cup or two of racism. Go to rally and chant racially slanted slogans that explain the woes of our country. Kind of like what it was like to be in Germany in the late 20's early 30's with a happy go luck upstart with a mustache.....

Hey Jobey, tell the whole story.
Honest Abe wanted to ship all Negroes slaves back to Africa. In fact, Liberia (in Africa) was established for that reason. He was the one of the first segregationists.

The tea party is what you get when Fox News organizes a political movement based on fear and hatred of Muslims, illegal immigrants, universal healthcare, communism, and people who speak, dress, and talk different from yourself.

Another member gets it right.

I wish more people would wake up and realize the Tea Party of today is a joke. Guess what? McCain lost and Obama is YOUR President. Time to get over it.

They seem very afraid of health care but they supported the Iraq invasion that was lead by the Bush administration. I'm not sure if I understand their logic....

it's a vehicle that claims to be "Awake" and they get others to join who also think they are "Awake", but really.. they are not even close to the real definition of "Awake" at all.

It's all politics.. a distraction.

Things Tea Partiers are afraid of:

-Health Care for others besides themselves

-Immigration

-Religious Tolerance

-Homosexuals

-Equality

-Free Thinking

-Any other news outlet that isn't Fox

-Paying taxes that build roads and schools for their children

-Masturbation

-Not being able to scream in a public setting to get their point across like a bunch of children

Some things Tea Partiers Support

-War is good until a Democrat is involved

-Less governmental control unless it benefits them

-Comparing Obama to Hitler when they bashed Liberals for doing the same thing with Bush

-No government involved with health care unless it prohibits women from getting abortions

The list continues.
