"Homegrown terrorists represent a new and changing facet of the terrorist threat." Napolitano said, "To be clear, by homegrown, I mean terrorist operatives who are U.S. persons, and who were radicalized in the United States."

The officials all pointed to a series of recent incidents that show that al Qaeda, its affiliates and associates were more active than ever.

"During the past year our nation has dealt with the most significant developments in the terrorist threat to the Homeland since 9/11," Leiter told the committee. "The attack threats are now more complex, and the divers

It is just a matter of time before we are hit with a completely unexpected attack.

If you look at disruption of business in NY and DC, it would very easy to shut down the economy in NY and DC.

I am sure we will be equally suprised by they're next attack.

If someone was to make a guess, how many (hundreds/thousands) extremist terrorists are already here working on a attack?

Are we safer than we were before 911?

What do you call a "home grown "terrorist exactly?

Have you heard the saying, "One mans terrorist, is another mans freedom fighter" ?

what if some "patriot" tired of the US Constituition being used as toilet paper and civil rights/freedoms being slowly eroded away cracks and goes and bombs the White House or a Tax office or something like that for a just cause?

yes, if he kills people he is a murderer, I bet the media wont call him a terrorist unless he has a beard, is middle eastern of origin.

what if he just manages to cut the power to a city without killing anyone? still a terrorist?

You watch the Feds try and crack down on patriots in the future!

If I remember correctly, it was military grade anthrax that targeted reporters and other influential people who spoke out against the immediate American war plans to invade the Middle East after 9/11.
