In a way I agree with you, but there is a big difference between lady gaga and rammstein or marduk.... she is everywhere. She is mainstream and more kids are likely to be exposed to her and her videos than the other stuff. She has a lot of influence simply because she is so mainstream. I actually hate her music and image, but when a song comes on that is by her, I usually feel the need to dance, because the tunes are catchy. I have always got a bad feeling about her. I happen to like Rammstein by the way. Oh yeah and girls aren't trying to look like the other groups, they want to emulate the freaky woman icons.

So, I'm taking it that most people here who think she is dangerous thinks she is dangerous because they don't like her. Does that about sum it up?

Even if that were true, so what? These symbols are not just "occult" symbols but universal symbols within Western culture, their use (when they are genuinely being used; not the panicked assumption of those who see "the occult" everywhere) conveys a certain message, not necessarily "Satan!" Of course, understanding those symbols would mean actually learning about other cultures and history.

I've read alot about the evil in music and artists selling their souls to "the devil". there is always a human sacrifice involved. that being said I would totally hit that.

Just few views stemmed out of classical psychoanalytical theory:

1. Her videos are full of sexual symbolism (arghh ... everything is sexual) directed to specific stages of "Ego", "Soul", "Self", "Personality" development. Namely oral/anal stages - which precede the final stage.
2. To identify "fully developed" sexuality (i.e. Oedipus complex somehow internalized in Ego) with oral/anal stadiums of development of personality is at least irresponsible. And that is what is happening when such symbolism is published as "mainstream" and not as "pornography".

From psychoanalytical point of view are Gaga's clips normal pornography. From FCC (or what ignorant agency) viewpoint are not pornography because lack of "activated sexual organs" (this is definition prevalent in Europe). For many people are white socks, shiny high-heels, or money truly sexual objects. Lady Gaga present as sexual object something like puppet (see power games in her clips). It is in accord to pre-mature stadium before ordinary man accept other sex as quite but not substantially different specie and stop to dominate/be submissive to it.

GaGa is a hack and a sad omen for/shadow of modern culture but satanist? Really. Aren't we obscuring the fact that she's just plain boring.

No, she is not boring. I had theoretical orgasm when I first watch her clips. My suspicion is, that her videos are carefully planned on bases of some theory (psychoanalysis, occultism, alchemy ... combination of them), but there is also possibility, that she is just reacting to overall sociocultural situation. If later is true (and I think there is mixture of both notions), she is best "reflector" of our situation.

Just one note: SM/Ds symbolism work almost on everybody even if he/she successfully dealt with Oedipus. That is why her shows are so "catchy" almost for everybody. While SM/Ds practice can be viewed as perversion (not adult enough, as incest is), it is in many aspects normal and for many people can be this way of (sexual) life real answer to many psychosomatic problems. Real trouble starts when somebody con not distinguish sexual play from real life. For sure, there are millions of "submissive" punished/tortured by "sadists" on daily bases, but it happens in 99% on CONSENSUS. Problem start when some rich enough mental teenager by real sexual slave. What I'm asking: Are Lady Gaga presentations support such mental teenagers to never grow up?

Edit2add: I can describe my ideas in quite opposite manner. Lady Gaga is fulfilling just one particular form or state of human desire. Real art piece (from fairy tale to abstract art) use tension between those forms and construct some story on its dynamic. What surprise me on Lady Gaga is, that psychoanalytical "background" is here converted to "foreground". Theory, which Freud developed on Belle Epoque Vienna clients, is literally used in those videos.

Pop music is scary. It's brainwashed muck mixed with a catchy beat. When I turn on the radio nowadays all I hear is candy-coated garbage. There is no art involved what-so-ever. Gaga can call herself an artist, but I'd think a true artist would have more respect for herself and the music she makes. She definitely has a hidden agenda, but so do sooo many other pop artists. How could you watch some videos on MTV and not see all of the underlying symbolism? There is something going on here! Have you seen 'Videophone' by Beyonce? What the hell? Please tell me you're not taking this at face value...

if you are stupid enough to let your young children watch mtv then lady gag gag is the least of their problems. they are probably going to grow up to be a retard just like their parents. this is much more alarming. the young years of a childs life is the most mentally formative period and instead of teaching them about important things like literature and history and science and the world in general you are just sitting them in front of the tv all day while you get drunk and talk on the phone all day or whatever you do. way to go great parenting i'm sure the television will raise your children just fine.

You've no idea how accurate you are. As a Bx Therapist I can tell you honest to "god", kids now-a-days are raised by the tube. Parents are to busy texting on their phones, surfing the net or just out right ignoring them. I can't tell you how many cl.'s I see a day whose parents just don't care. Kids will often ask to come live with me b/c their parent's "are to busy to talk/play with me"...sad.

I heard that Lady Gaga is going to come personally to every Christian and conspiracy fear-monger's home wearing a suit of made from aborted babies, use Bibles to gratify herself, then steal every child in the home so she can read Harry Potter to them!

Sad thing is, that is why people think she is dangerous. As absurd as it sounds, they believe exposure to anything even the most ambiguously and vaguely homosexual will over heterosexuals, turning them gay. These are the same people who think homosexuals make straights get divorces.

Never said it was a satanist plot etc, im not coming at any of this in a christian dogmatic sense, why? Because the bible is full of occult esoteric symbolism and falls right in line with many of these concepts. The thing is like i said that it is now more obvious than ever in your face than ever before. Of course i know what the symbolism behind that video means, it was about the initiate, Heru worship, Aquarius and countless other alchemical and ancient symbols. They are just forms of knowledge, knowledge is knowledge. Its how you use it that makes it good or evil.

My problem with this is that its so blatantly hidden from the masses but so in their face if they do a little research that the big question is why? If i were to show someone that Kanye video who is a regular joe they would think o well its some sort of 300 the movie stuff LOL, but say it was someone else that knew more about the esoteric side of these symbols they receive a completely different read. That used to be something kept in the shadows but now it too has become increasingly mainstream being fed to the commoner in some shape or form influence them but for what and why?
