Gee, I guess freedom isn't free. It's really expensive.
Nice job US Military, nice job Bush! And nice job Obama if you let it continue.
This is YOUR money folks, who has it? Who knows? not you!
At least in the day, corruption like this was hidden!
Wonder how much went to Blackwater and the oil companies?
Not to mention, good old fashioned bribes.

Audit:US Cannot Account for 8.7B in Iraqi Funds

BAGHDAD – A U.S. audit has found that the Pentagon cannot account for over 95 percent of $9.1 billion in Iraq reconstruction money, spotlighting Iraqi complaints that there is little to show for the massive funds pumped into their cash-strapped, war-ravaged nation.

The $8.7 billion in question was Iraqi money managed by the Pentagon, not part of the $53 billion that Congress has allocated for rebuilding. It's cash that Iraq, which relies on volatile oil revenues to fuel its spending, can ill afford to lose.

Not that it detracts from the lack of accountability here but this is talking about 8.9 billion of Iraqi monies not US.

Obviously corruption is not limited to the US, but I just love all the "patriotic" grandstanding since the BS Iraqi invasion about freedom, right vs wrong, supporting the troops etc. I guess the right wing ( the Repubs were in power) really believes in making the rich richer!
I might suggest this was going on while American soldiers were purchasing their own body armor due to Pentagon "lack of money".

I'm not Iraqi so how can this be my money?

You should read your own article before posting and commenting on it.

Oh and the US isn't being accused of stealing it, the article tells what probably happened to the funds.

Reading is great.

I didn't say the US stole it.
If you read you will see the Pentagon had responsibility for managing some of the missing money.
That's financed by your tax money.

Oh I see, you was talking about OUR tax money and not the billions of dollars. You was also not implying that the US stole this money when you talk about soldiers buying their own body armor becuase of "lack of money".

You know sometimes its okay to admit when you're wrong. This is one of those times for you, stop with the see through excuses and say "my bad".
