Vatican bank chief investigated over money laundering claims

www.guardian.co.uk

The head of the Vatican bank has formally been placed under investigation in an inquiry into a suspected violation of Italy's money-laundering laws, judicial sources said today.

At the same time, a judge in Rome ordered a freeze on €23m (£19.5m) held in an account opened by the Vatican bank, the Institute for the Works of Religion (IOR), at another financial institution in the Italian capital. It was thought to be the first time such action had been authorised against the IOR in Italy.

So lets look at this objectivly.. haha

Anyone want to bet that a couple of guys will take the fall for this and the rest will get off scott free..

Its like the kid touching incidents.. They all claim they didn't know anything about it.. But in the end, they are all lying manipulative psychos that are taking advantage of their power/clout.

I think we will find that this is going to be easy to trace.. I will assume that the dirt bags doing this, thought they would never be investigated.

I firmly believe that we need to stand up against religion ... and tell them we are sick of all of the killings and wrong deeds done in the name of religion.

When I hear Catholic- I really hear "Pedophile"
Now when I hear Vatican -I really hear "Religious Mobsters"

Its pathetic.. Taking advantage of weak people.. Giving them an eternal "gift" to look forward to.

Religion is what is wrong with our planet.. IMHO

Kinda makes me wonder who they pissed off. Suddenly they're concerned about bank fraud?
Looks to me more like some kind of power struggle going on and every once in awhile it rears
it's ugly head in MSM.

S&F Good find.

Gotta hate those unwieldy institutions - big religion, WTO, GATT, World Bank...

Takes a LOT of money and a HUGE bureaucracy to run a global business.

it's the Jesuits........
they are the military type "cia" of the Vatican.....
heavily involved in "jewish style" banking....
controlled of course by the Rothschilds.
no different than any "central bank" anywhere.

This story really doesnt surprise me. I would be willing to bet that if given access to knowledge of what has really been going on we would find that the Vatican has some of the most interesting and suspicious banking habits of any entity in the world. Just knowing about their gold stash's and all the other financial mishaps throughout history is enough to set someones imagination into overdrive.

Yes, they must have really pissed some people off for this to happen. Whoever said it is right though, if anyone goes down for this it will be just a couple people taking the rap and getting the brunt of all consequences....

I dont know if it would take "the illuminati" to destroy th catholic church, they seem to be doing a good enough job themselves.

Ironic, the Pope thinks his church is on the up, And this happens.

What I find bizzare, I read two books before the Pope visited the UK. And before this came to light in the news media outlets.

1st one was called the last pope. It detailed the murder of John Paul the 1st, after he was supposinlgy given evidence of the money laundering, detailing, how the vatican bank was being used to fund the Italian Mafia etc., which was taking place within the Vatican Bank. Before he could get rid of the those invoved he was supposingly suffocated to death, which was covered up by the Officials in the Vatican themselfs.

The 2nd Book, the Holy Assassin, details how John Paul the 2nd was nearly murdered after he found out about the money laundering also.

So much for conspiracy theories, when this happens. It does make one wonder.
