An Afghan reporter was arrested, apparently because of his contacts with Taliban representatives. For local reporters, covering the war is a minefield.

www.csmonitor.com...

ohh the Hypocrisy, now they are arresting Journalists, what is next?

This is an embarrassing moment for the occupation, especially when they brag about their freedom of the press, and yet Afghans journalists are being arrested for reporting the insurgents side of the story.

Ohh the hypocrisy..

The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), the umbrella for the US-led NATO mission in Afghanistan, provided few details beyond a brief statement that the journalist had been detained because of suspected ties to the Taliban.

www.csmonitor.com...

He's probably being tortured right now..

Oh the hypocrisy, oh how they brag about their human rights.

Reuters photographer Ibrahim Jassam, for example, was arrested by US and Iraqi forces on allegations he was a "security threat" and detained without charge for 17 months, until he was released this February.

www.csmonitor.com...

Ohh the hypocrisy, such a sad day for freedom, what a fornication on freedom.

That type of information is well available to the public isn't it? They are from Afghanistan, they can walk around freely without any indication that they are insurgents.

Interesting point though

Yes, but IMO it's pretty obvious why people like him are arrested..

TPTB do not want people to hear the "other side" of the story...

People may realise a few things like,

The real reason the US is there...

Who is really looking after the poppy fields...

Who are real Taliban and who are paid by the US to act as Taliban,,

At least they were released with their heads intact!
If there was no poppies there would be no occupation.

It isn't just journalists, American citizens are also held without any trial, one held for over 5 years, and tortured in bagram prison. Stupid really..

Foreign aid?
