and the illegals still thinks themselves uniquely mexican now that they are living here in america never bothering to follow its laws its rule or its customs or culture or language

Although that statement is a broad generalization, I won't argue. But that's not really the topic of discussion, now is it?

What I find funny is that people are still pointing the finger at the guy in the chair and saying he's an idiot.
Nobodys pointing at the entire structure and thinking "Wait a minute, the last couple guys have ALL been idiots, what's going on?"

Think George Bush could've quoted the Declaration of Independence in any accurate form? I highly doubt it, but you don't see anybody nitpicking that little detail. Hell, I'd be surprised if he could recite the alphabet without pausing to think.

I'm not trying to defend Obama. I honestly don't care about anything other than his policies and his plans for our future. I'm just trying to figure out why certain people think the way they do. I think we need to work on our education system. That's where this problem stems from. Obviously the education system of our past 2 generations has failed us miserably. Hopefully the youngest generation won't continue to let us down. Fingers crossed.

The answer to your comment/question is quite simple.

None of us owns a time machine.

Obama is the president we have now.

That's why the spotlight is on him. It's obama that needs to get it right now ...

But he clearly isn't.
Neither did Bush.
Neither did Clinton.
Why is it you can't talk about the past when the past shows a pattern that is being followed?
Why is it the hate of the American people just bounces from one president to another and never gets to the root of the problem?

As I just pointed out to another member seemingly unsure of what year he's living in - Bush is no longer president, obama is. AND ... when Bush was president, plenty of people on ATS went after him for any mistake.

That's really the point of this thread and some of my other posts on it. These were not mistakes by obama. No, they were surely calculated to appeal to hispanics in the case mentioned in the OP.

Sometimes it is easier to forgive the honest mistake, but that's not what we're dealing with here.

Two things that happen this last week, Obama promised Latino immigrants that they will benefit greatly from the HCR but forgot to tell the tax payer that they will be footing the bill, when millions of immigrants will fall in the Medicaid system.

Also is a bill about to pass benefit mostly children from Latino immigrants, The Senate is about to vote on the DREAM Act, this bill will give rights to immigrant children to have full benefits of tax payer.

And this is all looking for Latino voters as the mid term elections approaching and Democrats are going to lose their majority.

The DREAM act was defeated today in the Senate.

Amazingly, Harry Reid (D-NV) was one of three democrats that voted against it - after he sponsored it. Some say he did that so that under Senate rules he could revive it later. That is if Reid is still a Senator later ...

Thanks so much for the news, this is great, I am tired as a tax payer having to foot bill for everybody else but nobody give us tax payer anything.

Now if we could just get rid of the darn HCR, the biggest blunder that democrats have done.

I hope that democrats lose most of their seat with the mid term elections.

Patience, my dear Marg. Patience ...

Obama and his minions are driving a train wreck towards November right now and keep pressing hard on the accelerator instead of looking for the brakes. Some of his fellow "passengers" seem to be smart enough to have begun jumping off the train before it crashes, if any of the democrat's campaign ads that are coming out are any sign.

I understand that, but it seems like certain minds prefer to nitpick Obama the (hu)man and not Obama the president. In the case of Bush, there really wasn't any clearly distinguishable line between Bush the man and Bush the president. There's always an ulterior motive. With Bush, it seemed like he was always dragging his personal views and culture into the mix. I can tell that Obama tries, at least in part, to keep his personal opinions separate from his policies. Obama seems, to me anyway, to be more of a "patriot" (and by patriot: I mean defender of the American way) than any other president since JFK. Just my personal opinion; the guy could be green or orange for all I care.

i guess its the simple fact the hispanic vote is the largest minority in the country right now.

and thats clearly what hes going after.

statements like this lead me to believe that maybe obama is a racists the only voters that dont matter to him are the white, republican or teaparty votes.

Well haha With ignorant statements like him saying mexicans were here before us LOL!!!!! Is he refering to the Indians that lived in US and MEXICO before 1492 or what?

Love your signature.

Fact is better than fiction, you just can't make this stuff up.

Was the teleprompter working?

Barry steps in it again and walks on the carpet.

God help us all.

Ya know, the problem I have with this SOB we call a president is he keeps making mistakes that make me question if he really loves this country and believes that it is a great place to live and persue life, liberty, and happiness.

I work for a living and if I know the company district manager is coming, I make damn sure I know the mission statement of the company, what they believe, and why. Likewise, I EXPECT my president to know a quote from the Declaration of Independence if he intends to use it. Likewise, he better love this country because his finger is on the button to defend it. If he doesn't love it... and frankly, such screwups make me question his allegience, he better getr his butt back to Chicagoland or where the hell he came from.

I shouldn't have to wonder if my president loves the USDA, i shouldn't have to wonder if I go to sleep in America and wake up in the USSR, I shouldn't have to wonder if my president has America's best interest at heart...but under OBAMA I do.

What a damn fool to keep screwing up such simple political acts so that people like me have to wonder if he's a Commie, a Jihadist, a Socialist, a Manchurian Candidate...my love for the president should not even be questioned....but I question my oath to him everyday...

"The native Americans were here long before any of us"; but how many people are openly rascist towards natives, how many bill's have been passed discriminating them, and there are way more Mexicans than Natives (because of the American genocide).

I guess its the simple fact the hispanic vote is the largest minority in the country right now.": This is true, but it also needs to be made aware to them that many republicans are racist towards them, if the right gets the house it won't be good for the hispanic community. (1070, etc)

"statements like this lead me to believe that maybe obama is a racists the only voters that dont matter to him are the white, republican or teaparty votes. "= How does this lead you to believe that he is a racist? Obama is half black and half white, he picked a white vice president, I'm pretty sure he is not a racist. Tea party and republicans won't vote for him even if they agree on his policies, whites really? Why do you not think whites matter to him? Whites make up the majority of the registered voters in the USA.

The fact that your post got more than 1 star shows the true amount of ignorance on the ATS website.

Sorry, but what you just said is factually (and objectively) untrue.

Many will also - and easily - tell you that they see no difference between obama the man and obama the president. That obama very clearly brings his personal philosophy to the Oval Office and to his teleprompter. You, yourself, must have huge blinders on to think otherwise when obama forges ahead with policies and programs that poll after poll say are very unpopular with the public. The only explanation for that is that obama feels he personally knows what's best and the public be damned. That is hardly the M.O. of a man that separates himself from the office of president.

While I'm pissed off and filled with fire, let me add another thing. I was brought up that no matter how bad something was that was done by your family, you stand behind them. You stand by the family...you stand by the brand... you stand by your country.

All I hear from Mr. Obama is apologies and half assed attempts at trying to make everyone happy...which makes nobody happy. You might fight amongst yourselves, but I'll be damned if anybody else insults my family or my country. I can't say that about Mr.Obama....

I don't get the big issue.

All politicians pander for votes.
It's quite common and not unnatural.

I mean...they DO want to be reelected.

I also think it was obvious what he meant when he said "Mexicans", so the semantics game is simply that.

Not sure I see the need to make an issue out of this, unless it's all just about payback for any perceived harsh criticism of former President Bush.

This is just a poor example to try and inflate, if that is the case.

Im gunna keep this short.

I am really sick of listening to this moron talk.

He needs to just STFU and run the damn country.

Im glad he has all this time to play these stupid games, cause you know he doesnt have anything else important to do besides running his big fat mouth.

If he tries to give anyone amnesty, hell will break loose. Mark my words.

Obama. STFU and DO YOUR JOB.
