So the guy shows his total dislike for homosexuals and you erroneously mistake it for "repressed homosexual feelings"? That has got to be the most idiotic thing I have ever seen written on ATS. That is like suggesting a guy who openly dislikes cheese has repressed cheese eating desires.

"Me thinks thou dost protest too loudly". Ever heard of that? Its not the expression of dislike that is the clue, it is the unbridled vehemence, emotion and hightened anxiety with which he protests, not once, but over and over again.

Who is he trying to convience? Himself? History is repleat with evangelists who screamed gay hate from the pulpit only to be found out later to be a closet case. It is enough so to begin to wonder any time you see someone behave that way.

The suspicion is deserved.

As with all personality traits, homosexuality has a heritability of about .5. Therefore, a large portion of it is due to genetic factors. It then comes down to a person's social influences that determines whether or not these inherent desires are manifested or not.

So, back on topic, does anyone know whether this Republican platform item is going to be changed? I certainly hope so. It never fails to amaze me that people wanting freedom from big government only seem to want that for themselves, but want heavy government interference and control over people they see as different.

I don't believe there should be laws against homosexuality even though I think it is wrong. There are plenty of straight folks with some seriously hanus sexual preferences that are always left out when discusing any laws governing sex acts.

The thing that always enters my head when discusing homosexuality is one side, the religious, most religions have scriptures condeming it, and for the nonbelieving science driven side it makes no sence for a species of any animal to try to mate with their on gender. Which leaves me baffled why so many people get offended when someone states they think its wrong. I think it is wrong, but I treat everyone as equals and have friends and family that are gay. I don't preach to them, but they know my stance.

Yea, yea, almost 10% unemployment, people losing their homes, people can't pay their bills, people are sleeping in tent cities, and kids are getting dumber by the second.

So, let's worry about boys kissing each other. Why are Americans so stupid? I can't believe garbage like this is even an issue for people.

I don't think its true that you can't make a decision to become gay. I did it.

I decided it because for a few months I wasn't having any luck with the ladies.
So one night after a rodeo, where I took second in the bull-riding competition,
the whole gang and I heads to the bar. I thought sure I would get lucky that
night 'cause of my new belt buckle, but it turns out that it wasn't having the
charming effect I thought it would have on the ladies.

So after being turned down one too many times I said "...Screw this crap" (to
myself) and decided I was gonna become a queer. Now, I obviously couldn't
do this in front of my friends so I made an excuse and left the bar alone. But
what I did was I headed down to the gay bar instead of going home.

I started out having a rough time at first, because the girls that were there kept
kissing right in front of me and that kept distracting me from the men who were
buying me drinks. But finally after quite a few boiler-makers a guy comes
over and hits me with a real good pick-up line,

"...You wanna come back to my place and watch some football or play some pool?"

I thought, "...Hell yes I do."

Anyway, it turned out I just wasn't built for being gay. I had quite a hard time at first,
what with me not knowing whether to tilt my head when we was kissin' or should I
make him tilt his head, and should I undress him or should he undress me and stuff
like that. But even though it was tough, and I had to keep thinking about Catherine Zeta
Jones in a bikini to make it work, we finally got the job done.

But after a few days I realized I just wasn't gonna be able to continue being gay.
My poor butt was so sore I couldn't even enter the rodeo that weekend, and I love
rodeo, so I made the decision to not be gay anymore.

Turns out it was lucky timing 'cause this gal from the gay bar had decided that she wasn't
going be gay anymore either at the same time I did. And we have been happily married
and riding bulls together ever since.

Also, I just wanted to say to Ralph, if you're reading this, I'm sorry, I really didn't mean
to hurt your feelings. You are a great guy and good pool player. And thanks for teaching
me about quiche and lattes...that stuff is real good if you just give it a try. Also thanks
for waxing my eyebrows...my new gal says she really likes it, and says to tell Debbi hello.

You don't have sex purley to make babies. I can imagine many men going limp if that was the case.

Sex is about bonding with a person in a relationship. Women who have gone through the menopause still have sexual desires, after their body has gone through a change to prevent them from having more kids

"Boys kissing each other" That was freaking awsome. Like most issues there is always something more important and everyones list of more important is different. For a teenager somewhere that just got caught by his dad having sex with a dude, and then getting the #e kicked out of him anf thrown out of the house, this issue might be farther up the list.

Pedo's are ususally sexually abused as children themselves. Yes, they have a desire which they can't help.
But comparing the sexual desires in homosexuality between consulting adults and that of the sexual desire of a pedo against a minor is a bit sick.

I forgot where the crossing line was between two concenting adults and an adult + child, or adult + goat. Actually, I see priests perform the latter than I do any homosexual.

Pretty soon it'll be illegal to be Muslim, black, left handed...

You're comparing apples to oranges. All of you people (yes, I said you people) try to make a connection between homosexuals and pedophiles where one does not, cannot exist. You're talking about the difference of two consenting adults deciding that they would rather be with partners of the same sex rather than the opposite. Pedophiles engage children who are not legally able to consent. Same thing with bestiality, sheep can't give consent either.

So there you go, your analogy is broken and to quote one of my favorite movies, "You have been weighed, you have been judged, and you have been found wanting." It's time for closed minded people to wake up and realize that we all have to live here, none of us are getting out alive, so you might as well just embrace the diversity because it's not going anywhere.

It's not sick, it's a difficult question that is way overdue in an atmosphere that is way too PC is what it is.

but the question is... is it a choice or not and does saying it is a choice set a precedence for pedos to defend themselves with?

Isn't it just a matter of time in an increasingly PC world for pedos to say in court "it's not my fault I was born this way?"

The psychology behind pedophilia is different than that which underlies homosexuality. Research points to pedophilia being the product of cognitive distortions, which is primarily the product of social influences. Homosexuality on the other hand is equal parts genetics and social influences. Also, you forget that in pedophilia there is a victim, while in homosexuality there is not. Pedophiles are also not insane as they are able to differentiate between right and wrong, and are able to acknowledge that their actions are wrong. That is why pedophiles go to jail.
