I prefer to look at the part about communal ownership of the means of production, If you prefer the means of production in the hands of a few, which results in the majority of the wealth in the hands of just a few then that is up to you and that is what you have. It's not going to be changing soon.

I happen to think that the means of production being in the hands of an elite few has led us into the mess that we now are faced with. Though you dont really consider we have created a mess?

You bring to the topic the fascist part. The government, banks, huge corporations use fascism to control the market. They use communism to control the peasants.

It is a system perfected over the last century. Perfected by them to make us believe we have a capitalist free market society.

Which could NOT be further from the truth. First, you have to pay 3 times the value of your home to get it. Plus, on top of that, you are continually paying property taxes on your "supposed" property. But you do not own it.

Just as you do not own your very life. You are forced to pay part of your life to the government. That is what labor is, your life. Then, they institute this IRS system, outside the Constitution, the IRS has no Consitutional courts hence no juries. They steal your very life from you and no one knows any better. People feel it is their obligation to the country. Yet NOT ONE DIME goes to the government, it all goes to the federal reserve. Which loans you money, created out of NOTHING but we are required to pay them interest for it.

Then we have the illusion of a free market. The huge corporations lobby the government to implement regulations to not allow small business to compete with them. They WRITE the legislation. e.g. see health care bill. The only companies complaining about that bill, are the small ones. The IMF and their younger brother the federal reserve, create a fiat currency that continually devalues in actual purchasing power, that is a hidden tax that pretty much screws over everyone that lives paycheck to paycheck. If you are not sitting on assets that are going up at the same rate as inflation, you are losing out at every turn.

Do not even get me started on the socialist collection systems that you pay in at today's dollars and get paid back in HUGELY deflated future dollars.

How can they use communism to control the peasants. If you had proper communism you would have no peasants, because all "peasants" would own the means of production.

The thing is the way you want it already exists. You dont want to tax the rich, you want the means of production to remain in the hands of a small few. This is what happens now and wont be changing for the foreseeable future.

That is the sneaky part of it. They use the worst parts of each system.

No wages or taking parts of wages and not providing an actual benefit. In my life, I have not received anything except not being conquered by an outside country, yet I have paid in 50-75% of what I earned.

I do not get to own property, I get to lease it. Property taxation, registration etc.

You have to look at all the components of the systems of fascism, socialism and communism that I mentioned.

We do not have a capitalist free market economic system. It is a mixture of all the control mechanisms.

USA has nothing similar with communism.
The ad is provoking, which is kinda good because at least it forces people to investigate the issue.
Anyway what are we talking about...Russian style totalitarianism masked in the cloak of communism?
My mother has lived in that system (Poland) and believe me you are not even close. Russian style totalitarism in the cloth of communism has done more damage to the world than anything has left Poland with a horribly designed infrastructure, forced any brilliant people out of the country "brain leak", damaged environment, created social distrust, changed common mentality in ways you can't imagine etc.

Again, In my opinion communism is only one part of human evolution, just look at the Star could classify it as communist economy...absence of money, free healthcare, free energy, freedom, huge social mobility, egalitarity etc. It requires technologies we have yet not achieved.
Anyway we have still long way to go there. That is how I view communism. So in my opinion there never has been a communist state...only something else masked to appear as a communism.

Anyway, back to the issue...Greenpeace is rather radical and I'm definitely not a fan of their actions, but they have some truth with their, dare I say propaganda. It is actually partially true as our civilization is in decline. We are just like a car driving on the last drops of gasoline. First of all we are only improving for the most of part existing technology, and new Kondratiev wave hasn't emerged yet. Probably bio- and nanotehnology, which still won't solve our energy problem and the fact that by 2043 global oil reserve will be minimal.
Here is a good clip about that nice floating continent made out of plastic.

I agree, but I think an equivalent statement could be made about socialism / communism in the US. Those in power use the illusion of a free market just as they use the fear of communism. They are both sides of the same control scheme.

The fact is that we effectively live in a corporate plutocracy that has much of the military and political classes either in their pocket or under their thumb.

Tell me how to build a free market that incentivizes the ethical treatment of all people and lifts the lowest classes out of poverty and I'm interested.

It all comes down to liberty and ethics, right? I say first, do no harm. Second, love thy neighbor. Third, use skillful means to create a fulfilling life for yourself and those around you. If we all did these three things, the world would be a much better place. Instead, we have become divided and fearful and that makes us easy to conquer by anyone with a little ambition and propaganda.
