Ahh... see... look who can be helpful once the attitude gets dropped.

It appears that any user action that places the browser back to the last post of a thread does so by specifying the last posts ID number, which is essentially the same thing as hitting the “this post” link, and thereby showing the “this post” link as visited.

Ah, that explains it.

I never allow my browser to remember anything.

I do not even allow cookies if I can get away with it.

The less crap my browser stores, the better. I am still waiting for an add on that goes out and seeks bots and spiders and kills them.
