There is really not much information on how it works...

However, from watching the video closely, it looks like it is just a device you plug into any pump, not a special pump. This makes me think that all this is, is an option to run the pumps in a power saving mode.

Most pool pumps and air conditioning fans only have one speed. I think all they did was add the option to select a slower speed which consumes less power. So this isn't anything special, just a good idea that should have already been thought of.
