Oh yes, previously mentioned things about how you can still buy tylenol in a slightly different part of the same store, and the somehow disconcerting departure of chemicals which aren't actually food from the menu, and excuse me when did salt become illegal, whats the street price for a kilo, and most importantly... wanna buy some rocks? lol

Beck is making the point that if we have socialized healthcare, the government assumes the power to tell us what to eat.

Since everyone pays for fatties under a socialist system, the government will justify the power necessary to make them "un-fat".

Obesity will no longer be a personal problem, it will be a community problem, since we all pay for it.

I shudder to think what government would do in order to cut obesity rates.

How? Canada doesnt, we have all the choices we want, and there is universal coverage including drug addicts, prisoners. Weight has nothing to do with it.

Also some provinces pay nothing in premiums, while others are just over 50 dollars a month. Low incomes pay nothing and

Our system always cost less per person than the US privatized inhumane one. I got to a walk in clinic or emergency if I need treatment and if waiting a week to see the doctor is too long.

Not sure why you think what you do, the US is one of the worst cases amongst democracies and Health Care has nothing to do with codex or NWO.

And even the morbid obese, like the morbid chronic asthma patient, the morbid anyrexia, the moribib growth disorder, all of it, doesnt matter, needs 100% universal care, without exception, and top notch at that. And it should have no premiums or middle men.

I consider eye care, dental, orthodentistry, and even some plastic surgery, as medical and it should all be universally covered without premiums world wide.

its about the things they deem "bad" for you today its those things tomorrow who knows what else.

what is so wrong the the individual self governing what he or she puts in their own bodies.

why do we need to bow to the will of the federal government who usurps power at ever turn and chance they get?

personal responsibilty its not a dirty word i dont prescibe to the notion that americans are too stupid to take care of themselves and need their "god" obama and the "apostles" congressmen to tell them what they can or cant do.

i have said this in another thread because there is so much truth to it liberals and democrats have killed god with the secular bs so they can themselves become gods and impose their wills on every single individual in this country because we are all just so stupid and dont know any better.

What beck was REALLY saying is that the government will try to regulate food under a universal healthcare system. You are spreading propaganda with this title.

I agree with Vagabond,

Lets think about this realistically. Sure it would be ideal to leave the gov out of this and allow people to make the right decision on their own, but how long will that take and how much money to educate the people and take care of the sick (fat) will that cost? How long before the majority of people start to smarten up on their own and stop eating this crap food? I say it will take decades, if ever, before that happens. The gov could either step in and regulate these food corporations stronger, or make obesity a societal issue that everyone pays for, or both, but something has to be done because when you eat yourself to death it already is costing me money, insofar as causing problems for your family, community and society as a whole because you are not able to contribute much if anything at all, but still create waste and use up valuable resources. Again I would rather the people be able to fix this problem themselves and leave the gov out of it, but we have to be realistic.

Here is an analogy: There are 5 drug dealers on every other block, while you walk to work, telling you they have just the right fix for your headaches, stress, depression, diseases... and they will only charge you a 1/15th of what walgreens/cvs will charge you and you don't have to wait, you can have it right now for really cheap. How many days are you going to be able to walk by these guys before you bite the bullet and become their customer? (These fast food restaurants and processed food corporations are the drug dealers, and they are all around you, on every block, advertising with billboards, on your t.v, on your radio, in the newspapers, on the side of buses and taxis, on the internet...telling you they have what you want right now and it's ultra cheap.)

Glenn Beck is the most disgraceful human being to ever walk this planet. He is vile, disgusting and downright insane.

His fans are no better.

Oh wait, like the ladies who can't make choices with their own bodies? Or the Muslims who can't build a house of worship where ever they please? Or the homosexual who can't marry whom ever they would like?

Damn liberals

The discrimination against the obese is disgusting and not many seem to care.

It doesn't take socialized healthcare to do it.

Pooled insurance is already doing it. The idea is that the fat people cost the medical system so much and that price is shared, so the fat folks are ruining it ALL for us - and doing it on purpose....How DARE they?

The govt. has nefarious purposes with their obesity ideas - they want those kids in their military. They hate turning away so many recruits b/c they are fat.

I am 43 years old My grandmother was SO fat. Everyone loved her though. Back then if you were fat, folks still loved you, and didn't think you were putting them out, and maybe even felt some compassion.

People are so narcisstic today, that seeing someone fat threatens them and only disgusts them. Disgust is a dangerous emotion when applied to whole classes of people.

The cheapest foods are made from highly fattening products.

The poorest people in the nation must eat the cheapest foods.

The poorest people qualify for medicare, they get free medical already, always have....therefore

it already is a community problem..when you see some overweight poor person, that person's health problems are coming out of your pocket...twice...first with food stamps, and then with the hospital visits from the crap they can afford eating food stamps.

The more I watch Beck, the more I start to worry about his sanity. His mannerism has become worse, and his words come across demeaning and single-sighted. His constant criticism of Canada, and referring to it as a "socialist nation" is becoming old.

None of us should be surprised by Glen Becks rants and hostile comments like "Let fat people die", as it is a constant trend with his shows. He isn't so thin himself, especially when he considered pie being healthier than fish "because they have fruit in them".

I cant believe this guy has a tv show.I cant believe people take notice of what he says. I cant believe that for all the attention seeking headline grabbing hatefillied nonsense he spouts,he might say one thing thats on the mark and people forget all the jibberish he spouts, which he dosent even believe himself. Americans rely on tv way too much.(no offense intended)Im from ireland and thank god theres no real "personalities" like that here yet.

dont even watch this guy outa interest or for a laugh and he'll go away and shout his stuff from a street corner,at least he'll be off the tv.

Actually, the cheapest foods are the ones you make from scratch. It's just a matter of learning how. The ingredients required for homemade bread for example cost more up front than a pre-made loaf, but last longer so the up front costs are offset by the savings given how many loaves you can make once you have the ingredients.

I amazed that so many people have missed the point of Beck's entire statement. I will just give everyone the benefit of the doubt regarding this failure to comprehend and chalk it up to hatred for Beck and not the message at hand. I suppose that the meaning of the message would be crystal clear if it where simply delivered by anyone else. Then again, I would also imagine that most people have only read the title of the thread and have only comprehended "Glenn Beck says "Let Fat People Die"

Nanny nations and states are unable to properly function. Just look at California. Sorry, but "the govt. knows best" does not work for me or the majority of this country. The same govt. that has no problem with the genetic manipulation of our raw food supply. From engineered super tomatoes to cattle and chickens jacked up on hormones. Yes, the govt. knows best. We'll discover the true perils of govt. intervention many years down the road.

This is just another Beck Bashing thread that lacks substance. Way to go Think Progress!!

I agree, but he is talking about the poor in America.
That level of patience and planning may not factor in.

I just can't picture them going out and paying more for the materials to make bread from scratch, even in order to save in the long run, when they can just go drop a dollar-something for a big-mac and eat it right then.

I think convenience plays a large role in that "bad diet" too.
