War on terror WW3 ?

Could the war on terror be a part of an ongoing world war three ? the Russians (soviet Union at the time) where in afganistan in the 80's, then the United States in 1990 and several more times threw out the 90's. Now that we have takin over 2 country's in less that 4 years (afganistan and iraq) it only furthers the possiblity of an idea that this could be ww3 a war that has been going on for over 12 years.

A state of perpetual war.

Soon we'll be having our one hour hate sessions... oh, no hang on, the news already provides them.
1984... 2004...
the dude was only 20 years out.

On the plus side however, this is a war we can stop. Ignore it. There is no enemy, there isn't really a war. Reject the concept, ignore the warnings, get on with your life as usual and it'll take the wind out of their sails.
