Hitler wasn't a practising Catholic and also expressed gnostic and even mystic beliefs in some of his speeches.

Hitler said and did as he pleased to achieve his own goals and objectives and had no compunction in using anything or anyone.

Dawkins is what you would call a biased source. His words may be solid gold to you but he is obvious in that he has a marked predisposition. And when was he a historian?

Karl Marx was born a Jew, but his father converted the family
to Christianity in order to procure a job. He thought that
workers were controlled by religion! "Religion is the opiate of
the people."
In the Communist Manifesto, the God of Convention
was criticized not the God of Being. When we talk
about the Conventional God we are talking about
an authoritarian demanding the strictist of obedience.
For the Spiritual Theist, the God of being,
Communism means Equity!
Karl Marx

You can support communist or socialist politics whilst being a theist and you can be an atheist who is staunchly opposed to anything and everything even remotely socialistic, never mind communist.

Myth:

Are all atheists just communists? Does atheism cause communism?

Response:
A common complaint made by theists, typically those of the fundamentalist variety, is that atheism and/or humanism are essentially socialist or communist in nature. Thus, atheism and humanism should be rejected since socialism and communism are evil. Evidence indicates that bigotry and prejudice towards atheists in America is due in no small part to anti-communist activism by conservatives Christians in America, so this claimed connection has had serious consequences for American atheists.

Communism is not, however, inherently atheistic. It is possible to hold communist or socialist economic views while being a theist and it isn't at all uncommon to be an atheist while staunchly defending capitalism — a combination often found among Objectivists and Libertarians, for example. Their existence alone demonstrates, without question, that atheism and communism are not the same thing.

Since the dawn of time we have had some form of belief in something.
And everything just went along in its own way.
Organising it into religon i think is where it all went wrong.power and controle.
And the chatolic church is a major player here.Probable responsible for more deaths in the name of peace love and god than any other religon.I dont believe in the vatican it preachings of any of its popes.I have a strong faith, but its my own personal beliefs.
And dose'nt require any organised leader to justify it.
The world is in the trouble because it cant just let people be who they are,let them believe what they believe.
And what the pope just did by pointing out that people are different because of what they believe was so wrong, he is going to create fear and hate.
I think everybody should do their own thing .Love Live and above all Let Live.

As much as like to trust links from a group with an obvious agenda and all. I think I will go with my link and the things the gentlemen actually said. And I'll leave it to you to tell all the born and raised for Catholic err whatever other religion that are now atheists they aren't in fact atheists at all. Or does that only work when an atheist does bad?

I'm pretty sure that article proves one major thing - if he's speaking out that directly (he as in the church) then atheism or secularism (yes my creationist friends there's a difference) has become a threat to them. Possibly because England's secularism has become more evident in recent times and is pushing hard against religious extremism.
