he Irish came and helped to build the infrastructure of a young America. They came with nothing and worked hard to get to the top and never asked for more than a days work. They helped build the railroad along with the Chinese. They worked in the mines and factories and where a force in early unionization [which was important in their day but has become a monster today]. That is not to say that there aren't many immigrants that are Muslim ha drive cabs for a living. It just seem that wherever Islam goes there goes trouble. The Irish, Chinese, Koreans, Italians, et al all came to this country and merged into he melting pot, but maintained there own culture. Islam appears to want to bring about change for all. While without a doubt the Arabic culture gave us our current number system, algebra, and some astronomy, all great upward steps, Since the advent of Islam these nations have taken a step backwards in development and advancement of cultural advancement.

If she acknowledged it then why is it fair to claim that that Christianity is a religion of peace? There has been blood spilled over Christianity and just because it was 1000 years ago, does not make it ok.

Its hypocritical

A more modern example of an organization that considers itself to represent Christianity.

Ku Klux Klan, often abbreviated KKK and informally known as The Klan, is the name of three distinct past and present far-right,[5][6][7] Christian terrorist[8][9] organizations in the United States, which have advocated extremist reactionary currents such as white supremacy, white nationalism, anti-immigration and anti-communism.[10][11][12] The current manifestation is splintered into several chapters and is widely considered to be a hate group.[13]

You have been warned.

Yes, we have been warned... about 100 times, many times by you. You know, I appreciate that you care so much about us that you feel it's necessary to warn us every day, but really, How stupid do you think we are that you have to warn us time and time again???

I also find your signature extremely ironic and hypocritical. You clearly don't know what it means!

So, twenty years ago, this "Islamification" you fear (yes, fear, don't sugar coat it, your position is drenched in fear and you wish to spread your fear to the rest of the country - to state otherwise is simply a lie) supposedly came to France. So, how's France doing today? Six to ten percent of the population is Muslim. Yikes! Run for the hills!

Let's take a look at the ruin in France from the "Islamification"...

Muslims contributed noticeably to the economic expansion of France during that time of "The Glorious Thirty", primarily as blue-collar workers in manufacturing plants or construction.
...
Several studies reveal that France seems to be, among the Western countries, the one where Muslims integrate the best and feel the most for their country. French Muslims also have the most positive opinions about their fellow citizens of different faiths.

Oh, my God! It's worse than I thought!

Alxandro, here's an idea for you for the future, you know, after they've taken over and we're all praying 5 times a day and pigs are running free through our homes and stuff:

Other examples of discrimination against Muslims include the desecration of 148 French Muslim graves near Arras. A pig's head was hung from a headstone and profanities insulting Islam and Muslims were daubed on some graves.

And it looks like France is set to ban the burqa, too. Boy, they've really "taken over" haven't they???:

AP

The Senate voted 246 to 1 Tuesday in favor of the bill, which has already passed in the lower chamber, the National Assembly. It will need President Nicolas Sarkozy's signature.

I'm sure you know the Christian bible prohibits the eating of pork and frowns on the drinking of wine in the Old Testament... You know - in ALL my years of biblical study in my VERY religious home, I never heard anyone say, "Well, that's the Old Testament. We can disregard it..."
I wonder why it's still included as part of the bible, if it's OK to toss it... This is a new thing to me but I've heard it several times recently when we run across those pesky little contradictions in the bible. Oh, but that's also where the condemnation of gay people lives and bible thumpers just can't resist dipping into Leviticus when it's convenient to support their personal, political opinions, can they?

Every once in a while I completely lose my mind and post in threads like this... in my opinion, some of the most worthless threads on ATS. Bigotry has become common place here, though... It's sad, but it's a part of life and something we (the ones who REALLY support the Constitution, freedom of religion and the American way of life) have to stand up against - and show that the recent engineered fear-mongering of Islam that has grown like a cancer since 9/11 and is DAILY peddled by the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, is WRONG for America. It's the antithesis of what this country is all about!

This attitude of the OP, which is being pushed by mainstream media like a drug on an unsuspecting populous, will bring our country to its knees. Germany and the Jews ring any bells? If this continues, history will be full of references to the once great America and the persecution of and genocide of Muslims. Sounds pretty good, huh, Alxandro?

Yes they did, but open your eyes and look who is doing the killing, public executions, persecutions of women, gays and oppression, and if you dare to go against them they will warn you or else.

As far as Im concerned, modern day Islam is just as bad as christianity used to be. You are quite happy to not let them practice their stuff in your country, yet in their country you hope that stop their traditional ways.

For the record I disagree with much of the morals and religious persecution that occurs in their country, but you guys need to take a step back and see how hypocritical you are.

It was decaf and fiber..............man can you use any more insults to people who disagree with you.......wow, you made no sense, didn't discuss the topic at all, and you compared people to mentally challenged squids. Perhaps those terms could also be applied to anyone who supports the murderous form of government/religion you seem to champion......wow.

Don't mention the crusades! Those in fear of Islam like to forget about the dark side to Protestant and Catholic doctrines. As bad as elements of Islam are, you can't forget about the Pope's beliefs:

1. Opposing the distribution of condoms and so increasing large families in poor countries and the spread of AIDS
2. Promoting segregated education
3. Denying abortion to even the most vulnerable women
4. Opposing equal rights for lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender people
5. Failing to address the many cases of abuse of children within its own organisation.
6. Rehabilitating the holocaust denier bishop Richard Williamson and the appeaser of Hitler, the war-time Pope, Pius XII.

She already acknowledged that. But of course that was 1000 years ago.... right??

Well, Christians are still doing it today...

The anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas, led by Fred Phelps, picketed Shepard's funeral as well as the trial of his assailants,[39][40] displaying signs with slogans such as "Matt Shepard rots in Hell", "AIDS Kills Fags Dead" and "God Hates Fags".

The Catholic sex abuse cases are a series of scandals in the Catholic Church related to sex crimes committed by Catholic priests and members of religious orders, while under diocesan control or in orders that care for the sick or teach children.[1] These cases began receiving public attention beginning in the mid-1980s.[2] The attention led to criminal prosecutions of the abusers and to civil lawsuits against the church's dioceses and parishes where abuse was alleged to have occurred.

Rudolph is associated with the far right and was connected with the white supremacist Christian Identity movement.[3] Although he has denied that his crimes were religiously or racially motivated,[4] Rudolph has also called himself a Roman Catholic in "the war to end this holocaust" (in reference to abortion).[5] His beliefs were marked by antisemitism, and hatred of homosexuals and some positions of Fundamentalist Christianity, though he stated that he prefers Nietzsche to the Bible.

In the U.S., violence directed toward abortion providers has killed at least eight people, including four doctors, two clinic employees, a security guard, and a clinic escort.[5]

* March 10, 1993: Dr. David Gunn of Pensacola, Florida was fatally shot during a protest. He had been the subject of wanted-style posters distributed by Operation Rescue in the summer of 1992. Michael F. Griffin was found guilty of Dr. Gunn's murder and was sentenced to life in prison.

* August 21, 1993 Dr. George Patterson, was shot and killed in Mobile, Alabama, but it is uncertain whether his death was the direct result of his profession or rather a robbery.[6][7]

* July 29, 1994: Dr. John Britton and James Barrett, a clinic escort, were both shot to death outside another facility in Pensacola. Rev. Paul Jennings Hill was charged with the killings. Hill received a death sentence and was executed on September 3, 2003.
* December 30, 1994: Two receptionists, Shannon Lowney and Lee Ann Nichols, were killed in two clinic attacks in Brookline, Massachusetts. John Salvi, who prior to his arrest was distributing pamphlets from Human Life International,[8] was arrested and confessed to the killings. He died in prison and guards found his body under his bed with a plastic garbage bag tied around his head. Salvi had also confessed to a non-lethal attack in Norfolk, Virginia days before the Brookline killings.
* January 29, 1998: Robert Sanderson, an off-duty police officer who worked as a security guard at an abortion clinic in Birmingham, Alabama, was killed when his workplace was bombed. Eric Robert Rudolph, who was also responsible for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Park bombing, was charged with the crime and received two life sentences as a result.
* October 23, 1998: Dr. Barnett Slepian was shot to death at his home in Amherst, New York. His was the last in a series of similar shootings against providers in Canada and northern New York state which were all likely committed by James Kopp. Kopp was convicted of Dr. Slepian's murder after finally being apprehended in France in 2001.
* May 31, 2009: Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed as he served as an usher at his church in Wichita, Kansas.[9]

Because that is what will happen in all of our free secular-run countries. Islam demands it.
So yes, you should care what happens in those Islamic countries. That's what is being imported.

Fear-mongers have the IQ of a mentally challenged squid.

Lucky for us we aren't fear-mongers. Instead of having our heads stuffed in the sand, we are looking at truth. Those too dim-witted to see the truth, or who are afraid of the truth have - to quote you - the IQ of a mentally challenged squid.

Our Constitution will win out,

Oh really? You don't think that the gov't is working around the Constitution already?

I will just laugh at this display of cowardice, bigotry, xenophobia, hate, and intolerance.

Oh what a mouth full ... of what ... well ... this is a family board so I won't say.

Facing TRUTH is not cowardice or bigotry or intolerance.
Wanting your country not to fall into the ruins of a fundamentalist religion isn't xenophobia or hate.
It's called SURVIVAL and FREEDOM.

That is the hardest part to make people understand, no even the last conflict between burning the Koran in Florida had open the eyes to those that are finding excuses for Islam, Islamic followers do not apologize for anything, when they behead westerners on TV and burn bibles and American flags, who is telling them to stop?, nobody actually if you dare to put a warning they will comeback with another against and entire Nation like they did after the Moron pastor in Florida announced that he will be burning the Koran.

People just doesn't get it, can I say bend more Christians and none Christians in America? or else Islamic jihad will come and kill you.

My dear, I don't give a darn what they do in their countries as long as their own fellow country man agrees with them, but I be darn if I will allowed them to bring their laws into my backyard, plain and simple.

If that so hard to understand, religion overall is not peaceful and never will be.

And Islam is now the worst religion in the world as we speak and governments are bending over for their followers including our own butt kissing one.

No is not, but actually thinking about the brutality of Christianity expansion in the middle ages should be a good example of how Islam is doing the same brutal expansion in modern days, with intimidation to entire nations.

If you dont care then why state what you have?

Have you actually researched true islam? The similarities to christianity are astounding. It seems though that the only ones that get attention are the insane extremists, particularly in the USA, a predominantly Christian country.

There are extremists from all religions. How would you like it if I compared you to Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church?

Im sure you are not like that, but you must understand that not all muslims are like what people are percieving them on this thread

Guess you missed that part, eh?

And like I said ... People who kill in the name of Christianity are given trials and put in jail. Whereas those who kill ior maim n Islam, in the name of following the religion, are given a pat on the back. Stoning homosexuals. Giving lashes to rape victims. 'Honor' killings. etc etc. This is Sharia law.

ANY TIME a religion takes over a gov't ... there will be problems. Islam. Christianity. Buddhism. Hinduism. That is why the gov'ts should be secular. No religion involved in the law making process. (I'm not so sure about Wiccanism though ... pretty peaceful bunch ...
... maybe the world would be better off WICCAN)

You know, when you spend ten years killing innocent Muslims, I would be pretty ticked off with Western ideals too. Put whatever spin on it you want, but we have killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Muslims over the last ten years. How would that make you feel?

The thread was about the 'Islamizaton of America' .. as in the bringing of Sharia Law.
Those muslims who follow Sharia Law intimidate those muslims who don't.
If non-sharia Muslims weren't intimidated by them, there would be no terrorism, honor killings, etc.

Sharia law is toxic.
(just as Christian law or Hindu Law or ____ (fill in religion of choice) would be)

I'm astounded at the number of people who are proud of their conformity, who pat themselves on the back because they are not racist or bigoted.

Not all Muslims are extremists. Well not all Nazis were evil, should we let them have their way? If you think there is nothing wrong with the Muslim faith, go live in a Muslim country for a few years.

The fact is that Islam is spreading. Muslim families are having 5-8 kids while the rest are producing under 2. Do the math, the west will soon be bowing to the Muslim influence

Here in Canada, a friend of mine recently converted to Islam. Why? Because he wanted to get a job in the government. As a white male he had no chance, but as a Muslim they hired him. His only qualification was that he was that he is now a Muslim.

And the muzzies have killed how many innocent (if such a thing exists) muzzies over the last 10 years? You know killing ones own to get even with another is just stupid, but at least those are less for us to deal with here in the U.S..

I doubt that number.
However, you should make note that Muslims have killed millions of fellow muslims of the years.
Muslims killing Muslims in the name of Islam.
Freaky but true.
Remind ya' of Protestant v Catholic from hundreds of years ago?
That's what Sharia law is ... stuck in the distant past.
