Are you saying that getting shot by a bullet, dying from an air strike, jumping in front of a train or from dying from radiation poisoning are quick? I don't think so, getting shot with a bullet is quick, but dying from radiation poisoning certainly is not.

However these humans died, they died in a way which humans should not die. It is uncivil and horrific. I don't think it matters too much whether the knife was blunt or not, but to be frank, it matters that what they did was an act of terrorism.

I've only seen the Berg video, and that was NOT quick. They sawed his head off with a machete looking knife. They didn't chop it off quickly. Not quite the same as getting shot in the head or anything like that I imagine.

Exactly, one would think that there would be alot more pain being beheading then there would be being shot.

When you are shot, your death is instant.

I have seen other videos of beheadings in order to compare whether or not I felt that the Nick Berg one is real or not, and I seemed to find a common charcteristic in each of them.

There seems to be alot of squirming around on the ground (one video that comes to mind is the video of the 'unknown Russian soldier') and sometimes even moans, or screams.

Watch a beheading video, and tell me that it is the same as being shot in the head.

After considering the Berg video, I believe that was staged- as in dead prior to beheading. Too many inconsistancies. (Why admitt to the world who you are, and cover your face?)


There was no Johnson video, but the man was most definetly beheaded - accepting those photo's on face value.



Robert Jacobs, well, according to that video- if that was Jacobs, it appeared as tho someone was doing a sawing motion up by the mans upper body as well. (An American and a Jew and not beheaded? Seems odd considering their hatred of Americans and Jews). No reports of beheading, only shot multiple times in the head.

How do you survive multiple gunshots to the head and die sometime later at a local area hospital? I think something was lost in the translation!

The media was pretty quiet on this execution. How come?

I, by no means, am trying to minimize these guys deaths. Their families will carry their losses forever.


The fact is, we don't really know for sure other than accepting what is reported and whatever photographic documentation, video or stills, we're allowed to view.

You have to ask yourself, is this an accurate representation of the events or has this documentation been doctored/altered ?


To consider which death is more painful or gruesome or acceptable is ridiculous. Any death by the hands of these people is outrageous.

Ask anyone, I'm sure they'd tell you, they'd want to die peacefully in their sleep rather than at the hands of terrorists in a foreign country.

There are other ways of dying to, which aren't clear cut in todays world. Supposing a person that had a real attachment to someone died. The pain just becomes unbearable, and frankly suicide becomes the only option. Or how about Berg's family, they'll remember this for years to come. Should they decide to build up their hatred towards the suspected attackers, well that would just mean they're throwing their lives away. What their gaining is revenge, but what they are loosing is freedom.

There are even those that fight in the name of freedom.

Er.......maybe if you are shot in the head, but not necessarily. Being shot almost anywhere else and being mortally wounded and then dying of that wound is usually more drawn out than being beheaded.

The recent beheading were not done with the blunt knife, that which was used in the beheading of Nick Berg.

its more personal, it is different for many reasons, how those people were beheaded was like you would kill an animal, not even arab government executions by beheading are carried out the way those terrorists did it.

how is getting revenge losing freedom? going after killers through violence is only right and anyways the families had the opposite reaction and dont want to retalliate so whats your point? whats the point of this thread?

People don't seem to care much when houses get bombed...

yet there is public outrage when one gets beheaded... I was just putting this beheading thing into perspective, not that I agree with it. Their were only 5 or 6 beheadings compared to the thousands of Iraq civillians that died in Bush pre-emptive strike on Iraq. Yes there are US casualties as well.
