Your OP reminds me of Fox News, more often than not the opposite of what they say is actually closer to the truth.

I think it would be closer to the truth to state that, "The Left & Progressives Are The Cure For The Cancer That Has Plagued This Nation Under Republican Rule."

It's the Neo Christian/Conservative movement that thrives on turning people against one another. They preach divisiveness in almost every aspect of their lives whether it be motivated by race, religion, national origin, sexual preference or even patriotism. Bush stated it quite clearly when he said, "you're either with us or you're against us." Their whole mentality is based on an "us versus them" attitude and I ask you, what could be more divisive than that? You're thread is a perfect example of what I'm saying.

Please don't attempt to paint us progressives with your republican/tea party colors.

I'm not really a big fan of Obama. But the sort of idiotic nonsense that the 'right' has been spewing at him for two years now makes me think maybe he is actually on my team.

i suspect they are scared of the fact that he ISNT any of the things they claim he is. He ISNT a 'socialist' hes a centrist at best. And that scares the PTB more than anything else, because it might mean Americans start to debate things with actual REASON and not the faux left'right nonsense we get under the Clinton/Bush scheme.

Hows it goin M.A.? I hope the hypocritical liberals havent completely turned you off to ATS. I know they've ALMOST got to me a few times. Any ways, Im happy we finally agree on something. We've definitely had our diagreements in the past.....

The thing that gets me about the whole "liberal agenda" is how unrealistic it is. ( Now, before you all get your panties in a twist, please know that Im just speaking in general terms )

Yes, I can see how the liberal in this case would like to put a bullet into the conservative's head...not for disagreeing with him in general, but the counter arguement is a clear agenda to spread and champion stupidity.

This argument has many legs...conservatives (neocon social cons) are constantly bucking science in the name of God or corporate interests...(often they tie them both together...after all, corporations are God to many). The liberal aspects I stand for comes with logic, facts, wisdom, and responsibility that can be forced when people choose to effect more than their own surroundings (such as the example listed above)



My real world example of why this is necessary is simple..I live on a canal with many others. there has been repeated attempts by commercial property to move into the end of the canal..they would use the canal as a dump also and it would quickly become a toxic dump going through my yard where I currently enjoy fishing from it.
I personally cannot ask them to not destroy the canal...but the regulations in place to forbid them from doing this can..those liberal regulations...

I tell you what is becoming a cancer; Those who have isolated themselves from all logic and facts about the world and who get all their information from Glenn Beck, Fox Noise, Rush, Hannity, Drudge and their pastor. There is a mindset that cause and effect in the world is irrespective of natural law such that everything is 'spiritual' in origin (for example, the demise of nature will not be considered due to man's actions, but breaking some law of 'God', sins or such). Welcome again to the dark ages!

That is because Fox News raps it's partisan slant and bickering into misleading and outright untruthful news stories and they tend to only have conservative commentators and pundits on which doesn't leave room for bickering when all of them agree. Then when they do want to have an opposing side on they bring out people like Alen Colmes.

I am a progressive lefty, and I too am embarrassed by the level of partisan rancor I am hearing these days from the left establishment. Others I know have also noticed this, and it's gotten so bad that many are simply turning off their radios and TVs. I sense that what is going on is that both sides of our elite rulers are rallying their troops, while at the same time trying to keep the people divided and fighting among themselves, while our rulers implement their New World Order.

To understand the power relationships and politics in the US, it is helpful to think of a diamond, like a baseball diamond. Okay, time for some visualization: Let's position those major groups who hold power in society at each one of the points of the diamond:

The People at the bottom, at home plate
The Elite, at the top, on second base
The Government, on the Left at third base
The Corporate Establishment, on the Right at first base

The Elite who run the world don't want us to see them; they don't want us to even know that there is a second base, so they attempt to focus the attention of The People (on home plate) to the powers held by the right and the left, by government and corporations. Essentially, we are given two choices. We can choose to empower Government to run society, or we can empower corporations to run society. These are the two choices we're given. Those on the right, demonize government power; and those on the left demonize corporate power.

What most people miss is that The Powers That Be, our elite rulers, control both government and corporate power. The elite dominate both, and consequently both government and corporations are working towards the same elite agenda. So really, first base (corporations) and third base (government) are under the control of the elite (second base). So really, we don't have a diamond; we have a straight, vertical line that delineates the power in our society: a line drawn from home plate (The People) to second plate (the Elite). That's what we are ultimately left with, them and us.

But here's the catch. They (our rulers, government, and corporations) don't want us (The People) to know that we have any power. They want us to continue giving all of our power to either The Government, or to Corporations.They only want us to see two options (right and left) and focus upon that left-right spectrum; a horizontal line from third base to first base. As long as we view power and politics along this spectrum, we don't see the vertical line pointing to them and us. As long as we continue fixating on the right-left dichotomy, we remain dividing our power among government and corporations, and we don't realize we have any power ourselves, as The People. It is only when we come together, and sidestep the left-right thinking that we can exercise power over the elite and remove them from control.

The elite are divided; they can't agree on what type of New World Order we will have. The Elite Left (George Soros, Trilateral Commission, Bilderbergers, etc) wants a One World Government based along the lines of China, which is why we have been building up and empowering China for the past 20 years. The Elite Right (Koch brothers, Council on Foreign Relations, Israel, etc) want a New World Order Empire where corporations will run a military dictatorship.

Because Obama (representing the Left elite) is now holding power, the Left elite is under assault by the Right elite and is failing to accomplish the agenda that would implement the One World Government sought by the left elite. Consequently, they are extremely defensive and are trying to rally their troops for what they see as the coming, inevitable fight between the elite Right and elite Left. Presently, the elite Right is trying to use those people opposing the New World Order in their fight against the Elite Left. So the left is fearful that its agenda won't succeed and that the Right Elite agenda will be the beneficiary. This has the Left freaking out a bit.

I know I'm going to get flamed and probally attacked for mentioning the following so to the site, I apologize if anything posted violates any rule here.

The "cancer" is this radicalization of the Conservative base. The cancer is this fear mongering and the progandic matrix.

That was the ideal time to have a close watch over what's going on but since the lemmings did exactly what they were told to. Let us not also forget who said "If you're not with us you're with the terrosits!"? Since when does total blind allegiance become law in The USA. Under whose watch has more freedoms been stripped? Obama took ownership of the econimic mess because no one in the GOP wanted to take any responsibility for the very item that they (no one else) caused.

Big govt makes sure say, the lotion you put on your skin will do what it says it will do. Makes sure the food you put on your kid's plate is healthy and be beneficial to them. Big Govt makes sure your kids are to get an adequate education. Big Govt makes sure that things like The Financial Industry, Energy isn't allowed to dictate the policy. Big Govt is there to make sure the car you drive in is safe and free from faulty manufactuering. The clothes you wear everyday are hypoallergenic. If there was no aura of Big Govt we'd all be screwed big time and have no safe avenues. If you want to live in a nation without regulation get out of The USA as we are nation that takes care of one another and makes sure we are all safe.

There is a whole contingent of people who claim they want "Less Govt and more rights". That is an oxymoron as you cannot limit the size of Govt while retaining rights as Govt needs to be big in order to protect and preserve rights. Those who say we have no rights have already willingly and without hesitation forfieted thiers. Me, I have not forfieted and have yet to conceede jack squate to anyone and will not and will guarantee that as long as one person isn't willing to conceede a thing that all have rights.

NO ONE CAN TAKE AWAY YOUR RIGHTS BUT YOU. GET THAT STRAIGHT AND DRUM IT INTO YOUR THICK SKULLS, Those who believe we have no rights have already forfieted and relinquished themselves of thiers.

Agree 100%. You know what else disturbs me? The fact that the so-called conservative, "right" media - Limbaugh, Hannity, et. al., refuse to address the 9/11 issue at all.
