men and women, relationships have been complex since the beginning..
nothing ruins the man woman, relationship except for one or the other.
relationships are work, if you fail at it, with a female or male, its not a label in a school of thought to blame, but yourself or your partners. To prove it just think about it for awhile.

I find it very unrealistic to blame anyone else but yourselves for ruining a female male relationship.

The explanation given to me by a psychologist as to why there is so much more misogyny than man-hating is because traditionally women are the primary child care givers and have the most personal involvement in their children's lives. So statically bad parenting and abuse is most likely to come from women...and we know how damaging that can be for a lifetime. It makes a lot of sense to me.

Historically single women have been the targets for all kinds of abuse from witch burning to theft of their land. There is something about an independent woman that still seems to threaten a lot of people. Currently the most imperiled segment in our society (USA) in terms of homelessness and lack of health care are single women ages 50-62 and few will come out and advocate for them. I find that very telling.

Please, you don't need to convince me that women do great things, I have a girl who would/has gone to extremes to make me happy. But does she brag about it? Do I need to tell you all the great things I do for her to clear my name ?

Misogyny, Feminism, Sexism, chauvinism etc etc isms isms and nys(as it isn't a ism).
Basically Womens rights have been over 200 years in the making and still not all are satisfied..........this is no ones fault, in fact they have a masculine side and they don't even realise it. Never Satisfied, the mind of a perfectionist, the male attitude.
How can I write this you ask? I've been married twice...........I know "women" very well.
Men can be very violent and dominating but then so can Women as in the case of my first wife, a battle axe with quick action pants and no understanding of the word fidelity and that the fact she practiced infidelity regularly.
We parted ways when I became the better earner and returned to my optimum physique and the fact I don't do shareware as where my partner is concerned .
My second wife is the complete opposite, a women I can trust, very rare....and she loves the fact I'm 6'3" auburn haired, lets just say Eyes (as they kinda change colour most days), physicaly fit and able. Quite nice to feel like a trophy for a change. I completely respect her and her needs and wishes are priority number 1 as are mine to her. I'm a manly man manly man man man I do the DIY and Gardening etc etc even clean and cook when my wife is unable to.
Everyone is a type and they have their type likes if someone doesn't call you M'duck or Sunshine its because they aren't your type of people......answer=CHEMISRTY.
So Men being misogynists?. I'd rather say certain People are misogynists and Misandryists (misandry) and if you're experiencing it, its time to move on and avoid them.

In regard to the thread, I think misogyny is a word thrown around waaaaay too much, and especially (funny how that works) by extreme feminists. In my opinion, as have been said by others previously in this thread, feminism as a whole doesn't serve the purpose of giving women equal rights, but to put them in a position of power over men. (Hence the term "femnazi").

And whether it's carried out by men or women, such thinking and behavior is disgusting and immoral. Especially when mixed with hipocrisy and an inability to take responsibility. Which is exactly what I see in many social and political movements today, including but not limited to just feminism.

I so disagree with your your first paragraph.I hope that you are deliberately choosing to ignore abesnt fathers from all of this. It is all so wrong to blame women for bad parenting. Boys need fathers sometimes! And they want their Dads a lot too.

You are trying to pass the buck here.

No-one is denying that men are willing to watch a variety of porn, but if it's adding to misogynistic attitudes ( as the poster I was replying to, suggested ), then these women are their gender's own worst enemy.

If women weren't willing to degrade themselves in this way, then there would be nothing for men to consume.

It may be relatively lucrative, but what price dignity and self-respect ?

This is what I dislike about these kind of debates, is that someone will not criticise the activity of someone else, because they are on their ''own side'', while trying to twist it round to blame the other side !

There wouldn't be nearly so many absent fathers, if women didn't make such terrible choices for their sexual partners.

Extreme feminists are always quick to gloat about women's supposed sexual ''power'' over men, while completely ignoring the responsibility that has to come along with this ''power''.

If a woman has sex with somoene that she hardly knows, then nine months later, a baby pops out, whose fault is that ?

I, myself, have had a couple of one-night stands where the girl barely knows my name, never mind any personal details about me.

I don't have ANY problem with porn, dancers, prostitution or anything a woman wants to do with her body. I don't blame men for ANY of this. I don't blame women either. I think if a woman wants to dance or be in porn movies or show or share her body for money, that's HER choice! If it's NOT her choice, then she needs to find something else to do, but I do NOT agree with other women in that men are responsible for women who choose these professions.

I don't think many men object to feminism, if it was just about social equality between the genders, but so many of us abhor the double-standards and ''have your cake and eat it'' mentality of some women that twist feminism into the man-hating nonsense that it has become.

That's certainly the ''PC'' answer that you've given.

I agree that if a woman ( or a man, for that matter ) wants to do anything they want, within the law, and as long as it's not hurting anyone else, then that's fine by me.

What I'm saying is that there are a plethora of women that are willing to degrade themselves, and give away their self-respect, in exchange for money, whether it be through pornography, stripping, or ''dancing''.

With the above in mind, then it is hardly surprising that many men ( especially younger guys who have grown up with the internet ) have misoginystic attitudes where they regard women as objects, pieces of meat, and willing to do anything in the bedroom, no matter how degrading.

One can't complain about misogynistic attitudes, while at the same time ignoring the route cause ( which is women themselves, in this instance ).

Some feminists are created from bad experiences with men. The sort of experiences that afflict over 50% of the population jsust because of gender over centuries. Feminism exploded onto the scene in the late 60s. So we have say 44 years of modern and overt feminism. Men are weeping and wailing and getting violently sick after 44 years of feminism. Women have suffered worse over centuries and are still suffering it and not getting so bent out of shape. Clearly who is the weaker sex "hint i am ashamed to write".

I like some feminist s and dislike some. It is a movemtn after all and there must be lunatic fringe. Is it that some people here waste bandwith because they don't understand that a movement is not a political party???:Or a military organisation. Movements have a wide opinion base.
