en-year-old Jelena Momcilov has been picking up cutlery, coins and even metal furniture by just touching them at her family home in Zeljusa, since she first discovered her powers five years ago.

Now experts at nearby Nis University have urged scientists to investigate, reports CEN.

“I’d say this is a kind of unknown bio-magnetism. More experts would need to join me and research what this is all about,” said department head Pavle Premovic.

You'd want to make sure she was kept well away from the nail and screw section of any good hardware store!

That is pretty cool. I'd be taking a leaf out of Kick-Ass's page and use it to fight crime! XD
This reminds me of the case of that girl in France who attracted birds wherever she was. Sadly, her trigger, whatever it was, gradually disappeared as she got older.
I hope this bio-magnetism thing never disappears, but can be consciously controlled. I think it would make this girl's life easier to not have bits of her alarm clock mechanisms stuck to her hands when she's rubbing the sleep from her eyes...

This is definitely puzzling - my first thought that was maybe her parents had magnets implanted into her hands - after all it seemed to me it was coinsidence that she saw this in another person on TV and was interested. Maybe its the parents way of gaining fame for their daughter. Not saying this was the case - just a thought that came to mind.

This would be bad. She wouldn't be able to use laptops, iPods, etc. She would have to be wary taking a photo with a digital camera too.

Man, she is going to break a lot of electronics and gadgets in her life.

SO assuming this is true why has this only been happening within the last 10 years?

I would assume because she is.. 10 years old... that is the only way the parents would find out... the child would have to be born first...

Never mind that, think if we could all create a magnetic attraction and repulsion at will..switch between the two very quickly, and we'd all have the power to generate/induce electric current at will.

We would be our own power generators.

Last time I checked, Bic lighters are plastic. So why would "magnetic hands" make plastic stick to her hands?

You'd think that if they were going to go through the trouble of telling a fib story about magnetic hands, that they would at least have the intelligence to get the logic of the lie down correctly.

This is a parlor trick of some sorts, coming from some Russian tabloid web blog/magazine.

If she can work on her powers i believe she could learn to levitate.She is the next link in our evolution and another step towards our future powers ie Magnetic energy .

Maybe you didn't read the entire article...

I put the word magnetic in quotes, because many people demonstrating this gift have items like coins and brushes and tools sticking to them … objects that are clearly not affected by a magnet.

It's probably not magnetism. If this story is true, it could probably be attraction from static charge.
