I for one, don't remember what I was doing / where I was when 9/11 happened.
It didn't touch me then, it doesn't touch me now. Sure, sad, some people died.
A lot of innocent people die EVERY SINGLE DAY. Heck, more innocent people die every single day than died in 9/11.
Where's all the threads for those who die out of hunger daily? Where's all the threads for cancer patients, HIV patients et cetera et cetera?
Oh yeah, they don't matter since they didn't die in a "terrorist attack".
Please, dislike me all you want - I'm just saying how I feel.
Then again, this is something like Stalin said once;
"The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic."
Somehow, the victims of 9/11 are labeled as more important than the way bigger number of people who die every single day thanks to real terrorism and what not.

And if you read this far, let me just say something:
My heart goes out for all the people who lost family/friends on 9/11. Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling the lost lives insignificant, I'm just reminding that there's something we CAN do about the people who die daily, but nothing we can do about 9/11 anymore.

Ahha! bad crap happens so you dont care.

I get it.

So if your entire family was gunned down by a mob of raving lunatic political fringe element radicals, everyone can sit back and say "Hey dont talk to me about it - we dont care, there is a hungry person somewhere!"

Man, you guys. So awesome. I want to be like you when I grow up.

911 means something to everyone. The problem is we are still divided on subject of how it happened and who is really responsible.

One side wants to re-investigate the whole event. The other side does everything in its power to prevent that form happening.

You are on one of these sides, and experiences how ignorant the other side is for having their opinion.

One moment to think about all that this day may mean to you and to others...

*The Sword, even you can see the value in that statement, one would think...

its amazing how many people have to die in the name of tax inflation. the idea of america is good but like communism, rome, and national socialism it falls due to corrupt dictators. i myself will never forget arriving at my highschool that day and thinking "we're out of oil huh?"

You are entitled to your opinions no matter how ridiculous and skewed they may be. I don't fault you for your lack of sympathy for 3,000 dead innocent people; maybe you were not shown enough love as a child; maybe your mother did not breast feed you? I really don't know because I am not a shrink.

Now before you go giving me the run around and try to change the subject that we lost more troops then what was lost on 911, or that we have killed more innocent Iraqis and Afghans, stop because that is not what we are talking about here.

We are talking about the fact that "911 means nothing" to you. 911 is not only about remembering the innocent lives lost, but also the responders that risked their lives to try and save those people. I guess the fact that there are people ready to run into a burning building for you means nothing as well. That's fine and when the day comes that you need one of these brave souls to come in and rescue you, maybe you will change your tune. I guess the fact that there are people ready to jump in an ambulance at a moments notice and help you with your life threatening medical problem means nothing.

I know what it is like to serve my country. I know the feeling you get when you save someone's life. I know the feeling of running into a burning building. I know these feelings. I know how each and every 911 responder felt.

Mr. Sword, perhaps some volunteer time at your local ambulance corps or fire department might help you out a little bit.

We're in agreement here then. Am I still "disgusting"?

I guess if you don't "toe the line" on ATS, you get the equivalent of a stoning.

i was breastfed but my mother is still a condescending whore. what i remember about 9-11 is getting the go ahead to raise taxes to feed the war machine. what was 9-11? an opportunity to go to war. i remember the destruction of 3000 lives on television and my teacher and a bunch of other students crying at the 21st century martyr. oh i remember fred durst singing "wish you were here" by pink floyd. how ironic. 9-11 we will never forget president bush taking advantage of 3000 sheeple. today nobody mentions the way the towers exploded as if charges were set in demolition style. today nobody talks about any conspiracy theories surrounding 9-11 and if they did they would realize what kind of #ed up #ty ass government we have

Ok then, what are you doing to effect change? Please tell me it is more then posting on a few message boards.

Personally, I am taking a stab at running for Mayor of my town. It's not big and will not change the world, but you have to start somewhere. Even if I lose, at least I can say I tried.

I won't even get into the "911 was an inside job..."
I don't buy 100% into the story we have been spoon fed either, but I also don't believe it to be an inside job. Until I see concrete, irrefutable proof I will continue in my beliefs.

I am still laughing about the condescending whore part though, that was pretty funny.

If i was American i would vote for you.
On a more serious note people today the first responders and the other people who were caught up in the masive dust cloud that day are sick and alot of them are dying about four hundred and fifty have died.
i believe health wise there are almost half a million affected.
Not one person can say that the terror attack is over cause for the sick and the dying it is still going on. that is one of the things to reflect on on 9/11.
This is something we CAN do something about. Put presure on the money men to give them the compensation that they deserve.

what am i doing to affect change? holding up picket signs, buying weed with my stimulus money, starting a band, joining the militia, staying away from college, protesting against what society thinks as an "upright standing citizen" letting my lawn grow to new and dizzying heights, growing my hair to new and mind boggling lengths, learning wilderness survival, learning ninjustu, and living far away from the hammer of industry to create my own reality. i am being the change i wish to see in the world.

No amount of posting is going to change my mind on this subject.

You seem to be taking it personal by the tone of your posts.

Ditto here.

People get all butt-hurt over the smallest things, especially a differing opinion on something like this.

I had an excellent childhood balanced with love and discipline.

Why do you resort to making assumptions? Is this a sign that you have nothing more to add to this topic?

If it bothers you so much, MOVE ON.
