'America's Toughest Sheriff' Considers Presidential Bid

"America's Toughest Sheriff" Joe Arpaio passed on running for governor earlier this year, but the Arizona lawman who has become a national figure for his tough stand on illegal immigration is not closing the door on a presidential run in 2012.

"He enjoys being sheriff, but he has been asked by and urged by so many people, thousands of people call and write or email him each week saying, 'Run for president, run for president,' " Willems said.

Yeah, and why not have Governor Jan Brewer join him on the ticket?

I can only imagine what those two would do to stop, or seriously dent, illegal immigration at our borders.

If the man was to put a capable military force on the borders, complete with AC-130's, all he'd be doing would be following one of the first constitutional mandates that comes before all else:

PROTECT OUR BORDERS, AND DEFEND THE HOMELAND AGAINST FOREIGN INVASIONS OF ANY KIND.

AC-130's! Yep. Let's see how the Mexican drug cartels will respond to being splattered from an invisible, death-from-above war machine 20 miles away!

John Bolton: Said we should just nuke Chicago and Iran.

Joe Arpaio: Supported Jan Brewers 'papers please' bill and would probably just murder anyone who comes to the border.

What a lovely line up. I can't wait for next autumn, I'm going to get some pop corn and get ready to laugh like I'm watching an Adam Sandler movie!

He already has, he is a legalized nazi of sorts.. He tortures people in jail before they even have a trial.. He makes them work live in tents and wears pink underwear... There has been alot of talk about this guy.. Some good alot bad..

I knew it wouldn't take long for our Constitution haters to come out on this one. As far as im concerned, this is one of the few who could do a good job.

Arizona is a police state because of this guy. It's not just about illegal immigration, although he will milk that issue to gain popularity outside the state.

I used to live in the valley for over 7 years, and just moved back to Show Low, waaay up in the mountains. Imagine my surprise to not only see camera's at all the intersections, but also neatly tucked into a stand of pine trees at a 3 way stop!

There is no safe place to pick your nose in Arizona, because somebody is always watching!

Twenty-five years ago was when I first heard the saying "ARIZONA STATE MOTTO - COME ON VACATION, LEAVE ON PROBATION"...and then the actual convicts had another verse "...and back on violation."

Arizona has always (or for decades, since I've been paying attention, anyways) been an enforcement state...with a way high prison population as a percentage of total population...so I don't think Joe Arpaio himself made Arizona a police state...it's traditional...it was like that before he got there...

Ah, so, could very well be, although when I first started visiting back in the middle 70's after my folks moved here first, I didn't pay attention.

If he is the culmination of those before him, it's scary to think about what other sort of monster could be created out of Arizona in the future.

I am not anti-law enforcement, per-say, but I am anti-evil, and well, Joe is just pure evil!

Sheriff Tony DeMeo should run. He'd have my vote.
