#5 is so true. the road I lived on back in '93 was changed to gravel which I thought was stupid. It's since been re-paved though. But I always wondered why they did that..should have guessed it was all about $$

So when it all falls apart and the US has to start all over again from scratch and IMF handouts...

just make sure that you hunt down the rich corporate fat-cats living in their European chalets, after deserting America, and bring them to justice, strip their assets, and throw them in a hole.

You may also have to go to Paraguay and drag the Bush's back for swift justice.

I find it hilarious that, while some are true, some of these entries actually conflict with each other in the spirit of their meaning.

#7 In 2010, Americans waste an astounding amount of food. According to a study by the California Integrated Waste Management board, 63 percent of the average supermarket’s waste stream is food. When you break that down, it means that each supermarket wastes approximately 3,000 pounds of food each year.

#8 The city of Cleveland plans to sort through curbside trash to ensure that people are actually recycling properly. If it is discovered that some citizens are not recycling they will be hit with very large fines.

So in #7, we see how Evil we Americans are because we "Waste food", suggesting that the author of this list feels as though we should be doing something about all the waste

But in the very next entry, #8, the author tells us that it's insane that someone is actually doing something about all the waste.

Don't get me wrong, America isn't perfect, but it IS great. And i just get really sick and tired of all the American Hating stupid, dumb, and spoiled rotten children in this country that take it for granted.

Yes, it's your right to take it for granted. It's also my right to defecate on my self and walk into public, but you won't see me doing that any time soon, because unlike all you American haters out there, i don't want people to despise me.

The country that we have today is not the country invisioned by our founding fathers. In fact, they are probably rolling in their graves for what we have done to it. All of that sacrifice and hard work that they put into a society based on liberty, has effectively been thrown away by a generation who couldn't even hold the simplest of responsibilities.

Our forefathers' generation worked so hard and sacrificed so much to hand us down the freedoms and liberties that we are supposed to have but it was our generation and the generation just before ours that has been a complete failure. We completely ignored the guidlines set out for us that even a 5th grader could understand, yet we ignored them as if they were a bad dream or something. In fact, not only did we ignore the guidlines set out before us, be we also ignored just about every warning that our founding fathers could muster. Sadly, we didn't even need to understand the warnings to heed them, we just needed to abide by them.. that's all.

Tyranny is like the water to a dam. It's a constant pressure forcing inwards on the dam. If there is one little crack, one little hole, the whole dam will come crashing down and the water (tyranny) will be forced through to envelope everything. Our Constitution was supposed to be the water-tight dam that held back the tyranny but sadly, we ignored maintenance to that damn and failed to to plug the cracks the were constantly being formed due to the water-pressure of tyranny. It's nobody's fault but our own. In fact, you can't even really blame the current tyrants because if it wasn't them, it would just be some other tyrant. Tyranny will always be there, which is why it's extremely important to have your safety mechanisms in place.

This country is no longer a country of the free. We are no longer a beacon for liberty and justice. We no longer even resemble what we were intended to be. We have failed.... Generation Fail.

Actually I do not see that as an example of American hate nor as being contradictory.

One is about wasted food. This could be taken care of if people would not order more than they can eat or at least eat the leftovers. It is funny how we produce more food than we can actually eat yet we still have people starving. Another factor in the market food waste is that they could set up a program to give food away to the needy when it is reaching its sell by date. In many cases the food is still good.

The other is about recycling (this has nothing to do with food waste unless you are thinking of composting). In this case I disagree with them forcing people to recycle, but the city could make it easier for people to recycle. For instance my city just issues every household both a trash bin and a recycle bin for the new truck setups they have. Before this you could just sit out a trash bag but your recycles had to be sorted and often times you had nothing to put them in. Now the recycles have a bin all to themselves and they need not be sorted. I do wish the trash bin was a bit larger though, and the recycle bin is not allowed glass in it (for obvious reasons it would end up broken when dumped).

Not contradictory but both do involve waste.

And we have "free speech zones" as well.
Boy, just wait til I find one of those, I'm gonna give Congress an earful!

The list reads like a Ripley's believe it or not from 50 years ago.
"by the year 2010 China will have eclipsed the United States as the world's leading economic power"
- believe it, or not.

Ya know, I was going to say that, about the Free Speech Zones, but, I just couldn't even stand to type out the words.
Yeah, this list, though I've respect for the OP for posting it? The list needs a massive update.
