Van Morrison original... 3 great versions

Hate the Jay-z version, so not even gonna bother posting it...

The Clash are one of my favourite bands, (the only band that mattered), and they made I Fought The Law famous but here's the original that was written by Sonny Curtis and recorded by The Crickets when he replaced Buddy Holly after he died.



It was then recorded by rockabilly band Paul Stefen and the Royal Lancers.



The Bobby Fuller Four then had some minor commercial success with their version of the song.
There is some controversy over one of the lines Bobby Fuller sings in this version - I doubt many would pick up on it though.



It's testament to what a great song this is that so many varied bands and acts have covered it, here's just a few;

The Clash version is undoubtedly a classic but I guess almost everyone has heard it so I'll finish with the great Mike Ness doing his take on it.
