Stephen Hawking warns over contacting Aliens

On today's BBC News Website, I just spotted the following from Professor hawking.

Aliens almost certainly exist but humans should avoid making contact, Professor Stephen Hawking has warned.

In a series for the Discovery Channel the renowned astrophysicist said it was "perfectly rational" to assume intelligent life exists elsewhere.

But he warned that aliens might simply raid Earth for resources, then move on.

Another Hawkins thread. I am sorry but I dont like this man. I believe he is a fraud living off others work and he gets credit because he is a cripple. He backs nothing up with hard facts.



Their are so many others with great ideas why this guy gets the attention is beyond me.

I think that TPTB are afraid of God and/or any alien influence because it might be greater than their own...

MMN is correct, there are quite a few threads
already with this same info and quote.

But I'd like to add this:

I viewed Hawking's video he did for Disney
of what he thought Alien life forms would
look like. Now put that together with his
above quote and it doesn't make sense.
He doesn't portray aliens in his video as
hostile at all yet he warns here they are
not friendly. I do wish he would make up
his mind.

As far as my thoughts on Hawking,
I don't like the man ever since he
stated his comments on God.

we cant know if he is right or not, he is just giving his opinion, its not like he is stating a fact

deal in facts, not conjecture?
He is presenting himself as a scientist
and then shooting opinions at us.
That's not science.

Opinions don't count as facts.

If they are smart, they will stay away. For those that aren't, then lets prey they saw the movie War of the worlds.

They will die ! Not by our hands of course... better even... A simple fungus or bacteria will kill them all.

Apparently Aliens have known about the human race since caveman days. I think the main thing keeping them away will be our species of bacteria-viruses, ones which may play essential roles on Earth, but would eat ET alive!

Say one day we Discover another Earth (like it was in say our Dinosaur times)
with the same temperatures, & similar atmospheric pressure.

Well, who’s to say that within 3 days of taking off your space suit, you won’t be dying because of fungus, toxic pollen, virus, bacteria, or other single celled organisms? There are so many millions of contenders, it’s hard to think every single one, would be harmless.

Riiight...they're after scrooge McDuck's riches, sure thing stevie boy.

I'm guessing that he's pissed for being in a wheelchair and decided to gain some friends by abetting nwo 2012 plans. What are we, that we need to hang on his godless prophecies? Now aliens are just a bunch of robber barons? Laugh.
