It's ok Asala,

The house is where we are advised to be during a Quake believe it or not!

Number one rule is, stay indoors and get under a table with your head down.

I've always thought outside would be safer but seemingly not.

sheesh, I reckon that last shock was about 6.0at least

Thanks for your info XPLodER.
Be careful out there-the worst injuries can often happen after the event, with unsafe roads/buildings.

Stay safe buddy, and tell folks to use caution around any buildings and roads.
We are with you.

It's gonna be hard to sleep tonight for sure Asala!

The initial quake was way scarier becaue it was still dark at the time. There are shocks now every 5 ot 10 minutes, with the odd really big, sharp one.

The bravest one in this house is 3yr old, Shona! She is a superstar. We have her trained to get under the table with her hands over her head. She has not been scared once! She's an angel.

We are coping fine. I'm worried for others in the city, but being in New Zealand, we will all pull together for each other.

We are lucky having power here, most of the city is without. Were on S.W. Edge of the city here.
