Earth 'facing mass extinction'

* From: AAP * September 03, 2010 9:40AM

Major marine extinction in process - study
    Organisms not coping with environment
    Humans to blame

THE world is facing a mass extinction event that could be greater than that of the dinosaurs, new Australian research shows.

Macquarie University palaeobiologist Dr John Alroy used fossils to track the fate of major groups of marine animals throughout the Earth's history.

He compiled data from nearly 100,000 fossil collections worldwide, tracking the fate of marine animals during extreme extinction events some 250 million years ago.

IS there anything we really can do?

this was the very first thing that i seen on the msm on yahoo this morning and i was like what

How about labeling the real reason for this exodus of life due to all the oil problems that have occured as of late, but hey why tell the truth, when we live in a politically correct system. it would probably be bad pr for yahoo if they logically did some investigation into the mess that we are now facing

Good job posting this, as it was also the first thing I saw this morning (well, after checking the National Hurricane Center).

And exactly, Yahoo sucks for posting that article without giving a better explanation, timelines, causes, and references.

MSM, what can we say.

The article really did not give specifics and so it can only be speculative observation and imagination.

Currently our Sun is doing things that are not within "norm", as well as our man-made catastrophe called the Gulf. Who couldn't imagine that one?

A different approach would be that we are actually entering a new stage of Living Expression, a change that ends in a spontaneous recreation of species. Maybe the planet is ready to spawn!

What we should all do is to embrace Diversity of Species. Too often we see introductions as invasive, yet we are the invasive species. If a fold of life's expression of species is ready to change then the least we can do is start replanting the forests now.

We keep forgetting what kind of species we are, we are Farmers! We are cultivators, and we can work with natural products to build. Now the average person cannot live without their concrete jungles.

If anyone is smart they will leave the cities behind, that's where the biggest extinction will occur. Mindless paper machines never producing anything but consuming everything, the suits and the ties.

Nature can replenish time and time again, our Species will be filtered out into a new expression along with everything else.

Now yet another thing to worry about. As if wars, terrorists, volcanoes, 2012, global meltdown, revolution, ET's, oil spills, swine flu, NWO and losing my job weren't enough. I'll just file this one away for a later date.

I stopped reading here:

The research shows a combination of human behaviour and climate change could have devastating affects on species across the planet.

Did someone say climate change? *Yawn*

If not today, then tomorrow, and tomorrow is not promised today.

what can we do?

STOP LIVING so that we can Live Again, like we use to, before people ever owned land. Think about it, the system is made of US, there is no they there is only a WE, and together, WE are killing the planet, so we need to stop doing WE and start doing ME, live for yourself, stop supporting a system that does not care. Live for you, don't work anymore for The Man. Stop living under the tyranny, walk away. Leave. Go to the woods so you can breathe. Stop living in smog.

The ship is half sunk people. Time to WAKE UP. even if this report isn't reliable, the fact that BILLIONS of ocean life have perished and ARE continuing to die, due to human hands should be enough to get all of our world leaders together to reorganize our collective 'Global Plans'. This FACT about ocean life, will bring about the deaths of many people, but people are the problem, so maybe this is a good thing?

This life isn't fair.

Nice propaganda piece from the MSM. If however you all want to blame humans then I have a great idea, let's get rid of a few, starting with the ones at the top!

How is this news?
This has been obvious to most for some time now....
Perhaps humans have very little to do with climate change egotists that we are, we seem to be taking the credit for natures own plans.
There are a few things we can do to tunr things around temporarily, even maybe change their course somewhat...
A few shiploads of shredded iron may help the oceans where oxy is low...
things of that nature are feasable.
Possibly we are merely experiencing the natural progression of species, and if we cannot make to change well go the way of the dodo.....
