I dont know man.. I hear KFC has bruises on their chickens when they are killed.. as in beatings and kicking prior to being killed.. This was shown on nightly news a while ago yrs wise..

Cows come in before slaughter and some are completely screwed up it isnt even funny, and their habitat looks like a concentration camp to say the least..

Chickens aren't allowed to see light and they are given so much hormones that they grow like 4 times as fast in a short amount of time..
To where they cant even stand up cause their legs haven't grown to fit the body..

This is humane and painless?

Not all practice what you preach.. here in Amerika we like black and white with or chicken breasts.. and a crap load of hormones..

And yes I eat meat before you call me some Peta member or something.. I am just bringing to light some things are far worse than what this girl did. Although she did do something bad some do far worse than she did.

What about cruelty to insects or cruelty to plants? What about all those other animals chucked into the water in the bygone days? Are those people who did it necessarily evil?

So you are claiming she should be arrested because she wasn't somber. Or maybe that she should be arrested lest she grow up to be a problem to society, aka precrime approach.

If you can't see the problem here--that she did not kill the puppies by means you would prefer--then hope is lost on you. Why should she be arrested if she couldn't shoot the dogs or afford to get them put down? Why is there an internet army formed because she drowned puppies whereas if she drowned spiders nothing would happen?

Killing for no reason like it appeared in the video of the girl is just wrong. It was a waste of life, and cruel, and pointless.

Does anyone remember when the video showing a soldier throwing a puppy off a cliff made it on YouTube? People were outraged.

I can't remember, but I think it turned out that the puppy was already dead, and the sound effect was added or mimicked by someone. I don't know, this event with the girl is far worse.

Yes they do get off way too lightly.
From what I am understanding she has to be 14 years old and is only 12 so she is gonna walk.
Its amazing...you do some bank fraud and get a heavy sentance...you kill an animal and you get a light sentance.
Just goes to show where the priorities are.

She killed the puppies because they were sick and her grandmother told her to.

The law can't come down on everybody for every bad thing they do I'm afraid. I'm sure things like this happen all over the world every day. The only difference with this situation is that the girl and her friend were idiotic enough to post it on the internet, which is now currently leading to people tracking her down with intentions to make her life difficult. Justice will probably come down on her, but not by the hand of the law.

Her grandmother should have been wise enough to tell her to take them to a Animal Shelter so they can be euthanized, which is painless. Instead of letting them drown which is extremely painful, and a form of torture.

Or, take them to an animal hospital so they can be treated and cured, and then sold to loving families for the price it cost to treat them.

No it isn't.

But your point actually suppoorts the outrage here. There are humane ways to do things and inhumane ways.

The plant I worked in did everything they could do to treat the animals with at least a bit of respect regardless of what was about to happen. I got the job there through my uncle who was head of security and I can remember him talking about having to escort terminated employees off the premises because they were caught abusing the animals.

There is no shortage of evidence regarding how sadistic people can be and in no case is it acceptable. In the case of KFC chickens it was the company trying to save a buck, as always.

When the story broke and people found out though they were forced to change.

The problem is that some countries (and the US is included here) turn a blind eye to what goes on. In the case of the US in particular, the laws are such that an inspector cannot even enter the plant. Inspections are based on the company records stored at the front gate.

I am not going to get sucked into that argument. Apparently, this is a common practice amongst farmers. I don't agree with it, but, I understand why they would need to do it ie. too many stray dogs running around, chasing eating livestock etc.

The article title states: "Sociopath in the making".

The point is, this girl was throwing these puppies into the river like a normal child throws stones.

Why would the parents allow their 12 year old girl to do this? And why would any child agree to do this? If I were 12 years old and threw a bunch of puppies into a river, I would be traumatized and probably would have had nightmares because of it. I think most children would also.

Bosnia is not like the US or UK. Chances are they don't have such facilities, or if they did some people are still uneducated about it. The best thing she could have done is fed them to the poor. That way everyone's happy.

What about cruelty to ATS Members? You know where day after day we have to read about the outrage of select members and their own repressed sadistic desires as they muse over and over again the extreme forms of punishment they have devised in their mind to inflict an even greater form of suffering.

Speaking of which people tend to be a product of their environment.

Years ago I remember reading about quite a number of different acts of cruelty in Bosnia.

Young girl 5 is blown up in Sarajevo bread line by Serbian shell.

Mass grave found of hundreds of Bosnian old men, women and children believed butchered by militia aligned with Serbian Army.

Bosnian women found in make shift Serbian prison raped and forced to be sex slaves.

In fact these were daily headlines for years in Bosnia and how many people cared then as much as they do a litter of puppies today?

Most of the people who post to these threads in fact show that same propensity for extreme acts of sadism as the original perpetrator did and then often way beyond, as they describe in violent and angry detail every last act or retribution and punishment they would like to see happen.

Yet amazingly they wonder where people get the notion to do something cruel and sadistic.

Probably from a bunch of hypocrites who sit around and stay silent or turn a blind eye when powerful nations and soldiers are slaughtering innocent men, women and children, but suddenly become a twisted version of superman when it's a 12 year old girl harming puppy dogs.

It's amazing how so many people think you have to be cruel to be kind.

Friends on facebook and other networking sites are trying to encourage legislation..."Abuse an animal, go to jail" which may help people think twice before they do something senseless and extraordinarily cruel to an animal for no reason other than their personal entertainment and kicks.

I wasnt on either side of the fence, I was point out that way worse happens than what she did to them dogs..

I do know the ins on sites are very rare here compared to 20 yrs ago.. They used to do something like 9000 ins's a yr now they do less than a couple hundred..

But either way, I suppose what you say is true I am only going what our Amerikan businesses do..

Why is feeding the dogs a bad idea? Some people eat dogs. You can't be hypocritical if the hungry are fed food. Or do you care more about animals than human beings? The dogs would die anyway; better not let them go to waste. But oh wait, the internet squad likes puppies, better not eat them or they will track you down and make your life a living hell!

Many fish and micro organisms probably got a free meal when she threw them into the water.
