It probably is cheaper to pay the fine of dumping then it is to store toxic waste. Does anyone know where to get the information about that at?

Tesla has since paid back the debt if I'm not mistaken. Reports estimate that Tesla itself is worth north of $500 Million - $1 Billion (USD).

No sign of that.

US carmakers shift west, and go green

Last Updated: August 20. 2010

But technology start-ups don’t follow normal growth patterns. The recession that nearly did in Detroit has only helped Tesla and Fisker. Each has received approval for loans of around $500m from the $25bn Advanced Technology Manufacturing Loan Program announced by Congress in November 2008. Tesla will use the cash to build a new factory in California for its $50,000 (Dh 183,655) Model S; by 2012 it says it will be making 20,000 cars each year. Fisker has bought a former GM plant in Delaware and plans to build at least 100,000 of its new, $40,000 (Dh146,924) Project Nina plug-in hybrids there by the same date.

Now, if you have a reputable source saying it was paid back you wish to post, you are free to do so.

Daimler, Ag is paying for that facility as that will be the facility that the new 2011 Model S Sedan is scheduled to be constructed at.

Elon Munsk, Co Founder Tesla is also working with NASA to begin to privatize space flights and the capital needed was for that. They've already launched the prototype.

The Project Nina cars will launch 2013/14.

GM wll by 2012 have the plug in/gas hybrid the Volt and by 2012 will launch the all electric 2012 Spark. The Spark replaces the Aveo. The new Cruze to replace the Cobalt.

Do you have any source saying Tesla paid back the 'loan'? Daimler and Tesla teamed up back in 2009 (Source.) even before the federal' loan was made, and the source I posted from last month says Tesla plans on using the 'loan' money to build the factory.

Tesla used the loan it got back in 2006/07 to build it's Roadster. They contracted with Lotus Group Plc. for the bodies as Lotus provides the bodies.

Tesla itself is in development of it's third car. Daimler to pay for the Cali facility to build it's Model S sedan. Daimler will also use the battery pack in it's smart fortwo/citycar.
